Can I kill it without items? Sure I can. Can I kill it without Equalizer? Yeah. Do I need Armiger Unleashed? Nope.
But it's a boring fight and using all the OP shit takes it down faster. Don't have rare metal on this save file yet or I woulda used that, too.

Yes because it requires you have all the royal arms, and Sword of the Father is acquired through the main story quest in Chapter 13.

Does Ignis' enchancement crit do anything? I havent noticed any extra damage, does it last longer or something? Also, I feel like Legacy of the Lucii does a ton of damage while not being as slow as the last combo finisher of Armiger unleashed. I havent tried or timed any of this but I feel like just spamming the second combo finisher of armiger unleashed would be the highest dps

Yes ignis' enhancement buffs damage. Legacy of the lucii does not work on the turtle. You cannot avoid the slow finisher of AU so it's best just to use the last combo anyway
