when doing a coolant flush and filling the system back up make sure you smash the heater on so you flush the heater core as well

the 2nd hose on the res connects to the thermostat housing and acts as a bypass for temp control for BA/BF
@alanclarke59795 жыл бұрын
The second line on the header tank goes to a bleed off nipple on the thermostat housing in the ba and bf models to prevent air locks and helps with filling. Looks nice mate, keep it up 🤙🤙🚗🚗💨💨💨💨

Correct i wonder why they deleted this on FGs. Cost savings?

Invest in a earls oil feed line for your turbo mate! I’m sure you know the stock lines have a mini filter near the banjo and they tend to block up $120 better then $2K
@timjames77095 жыл бұрын
Probably the most important mod to do, I had to replace my turbo core in my BA Mk2 at 150K because that, I run after market lines and filter now!

That looks nice as mate, I'm looking at getting one but not sure weather to get black or chrome, both look good
@matman4295 жыл бұрын
Its way cheaper buying your oil in a twenty liter container.I had to file some of the coolant tank neck on my aeroflow tank as there was a slight burr and the cap goes on so much easier.

Nulon full synthetic oils a very good no doubt about it , and an Australian company to boot , we should all support Aussie companies whenever we can. I personally use Penrite ( another Aussie company) HPR5 5w -40 Extra 10 full zinc - full synthetic in my 2004 BA , I have been told that Penrite oils are a better quality than Nulon oils , but each to their own . Just wait until the landlord finds the oil stain on the driveway lol . I learnt the hard way too , now I lay three or four newspapers under the oil drain container for when I remove the oil filter .
@GENE_THE_NEMES1S5 жыл бұрын
Penrite is a good oil, but it stains the internals where Nulon has more detergents to keep the engine internals cleaner.. Plus Penrite can omit a strong unique Penrite fume

I got my tank about the same time Zac installed his in this vid, I have to say mines pretty problematic, I keep looking coolant from the cap or over flow hose, every trip I have coolant out side the tank

Blacks great for seeing your coolant level
@MY_USER_WAS_TAKEN5 жыл бұрын
If you check it weekly it's fine but it's a waste of time with a stock turbo the only time it's practical is for high mount turbo setups so you dont melt the stock plastic one

Just run a bit of 8mm silicone or rubber hose from that over flow outlet down to a lower point in the engine bay so if it does need to bleed off if will run out to the ground, so it doesn't make a mess of your bay.... Oh and "push down" and twist anticlockwise to remove filler cap 😉 And FYI.. Go get an actual blanking bung-holeo for that unused outlet from MSA 😁🤙🏻
@jezmuscat64553 жыл бұрын
I noticed that after you flushed out the old coolant, you didn't flush it out with a Hose! Getting any debris out. Also, not running the heater. Pretty unprofessional! The new Reservoir might look Great,but you can't tell if your coolant is dirty!
@FeverK05 жыл бұрын
Hey Zac, engine bay looks dope. Have you considered relocating the battery to the boot?

Ah bro, what about the nipple under the cap? Does the cap block it?
@warrenkelly91914 жыл бұрын
Overflow outlet. Just run a bit of 8mm silicone hose to a lower point, so if it does need to bleed out, it'll go to ground instead of all over your nice new tank/engine bay :)

it doesn't go to another overflow tank, it goes to the top of the thermostat housing on the BA BF, i personally wouldn't use 1 of those alloy tanks cause you will never know when your coolant is low.

Fool. The coolant tanks are white for a reason... your coolant tank isnt going to be as effective as it should due to the style choice. Looks good tho
