Overall, it was a satisfying ending for Hakuno: leading humanity for 1000 years, leaving the future to a new generation, and finally being able to rest in peace. He even got to hang out with his kouhai and experience the youth he never had, while giving a proper send-off to BB. However, skipping over his journey and jumping straight to the ending feels like such a dick move, Nasu.
@Fatelore228Ай бұрын
Unfortunately Nasu had no other choice after the failure of the Extella games. At least we were able to give Hakuno some closure, and now they will be in Chaldea where they can spend time with BB and the Sakura Five and meet new friends. They are free from the weight of being the protagonist, now they can be a support.
@abrahammesrajecorrea2349Ай бұрын
I wouldn't really call it "jumping over to the end of the story" for Hakuno, taking into consuderation they livef a 1000 years as representatives of their humanity until it was time to give space for the new prime species with their worlds' new Archetype taking over and them finally resting in peace. Mostly because I think part of the Extra games already roll with you in the middle of the story, not at the beginning. Like how Extra already kicks in in 2030 and you're told background story of what happened in the past since the 70s. Or Extra CCC making the player assume the game will be like a sequel but it's not. The Extella games also making you assume they're sequels of the Extra games but aren't and also give you more lore, like Velber or what Rex Magnus found in his youth that connects him to Altera. If anything, I hope that if Part 3 of FGO may focus on possible futures, that we get to see one of the Hakunos' worlds to hear from first hand the exploits of them by the citizens of the Moon Cell just as we meet their new Archetype. It may not be seeing the rest of Hakuno's journey, but it will be amazing seeing ehat they accomplished for 1000 years before they finally kicked the bucket in peace.

@abrahammesrajecorrea2349Ай бұрын
@@VaszleinAgstral I enjoyed the Extra games as well and they were my entry point to the Fate franchise, which I really didn't care for until I played Extra... but let's being realistic, the Extra titles never had any proper consistency in their stories. No, I'm not saying they had "bad writting", I'm saying that they all were their own things to begin with. None truly felt like a proper seque or adaption of the other. Like CCC Fox Tail isn't a CCC adaption but its own take. Or the Extra anime also being its own thing, not an adaptation of Extra, but rather taking elements of it. Each Extra installment was always like that: never a sequel but rather taking already mentioned elements to be their own things. I don't think Extra Record will be the last Extra game, let aloke entry in the franchise... but as endings for the characters come, I think this was the best for the Hakunos that they could've gotten. Unless somehow we get a new Extra game showcasing their last adventure before giving room to the new Archetype and them finally resting for good on their own, I don't know how that would be done. And if it is, maybe their final adventure won't lead to that but towards a different ending. Only time will tell but so far I'm glad they got their proper rest.

Okay, so like I don't mind Hakuno dying (they lived for 1000 years and they die in pretty much every game at least once). But I don't like the way it happened. One, killing Hakuno is fine, but why kill them in the one way that doesn't make any sense? In Extella, the reason why Hakuno lived is that they wished that AI who fulfill their role won't be deleted and will be assigned a new role, but here they die because they fulfilled their role? Two, I love BB and CCC, but why is Hakuno fine with spending their last moments with BB instead of, you know, the people who were their for them from the beginning? The people that they canonically married to? Sometimes it feel like BB and CCC are the only thing Nasu remember about the Extraverse. Three, this have nothing to do with their death, but WDYM ALAYA CAUSE AMNESIA SYNDROME!? AND WHY ARE YOU JUST CASUALLY REVEALING THAT LIKE IT WAS ALREADY A KNOWN FACT WHEN IT WAS A MYSTERY IN EXTRA! NASU WTH!?
@LuckyTheReviewerАй бұрын
THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHAT URKS ME! Nasu basically retcon Extella continuity to make this happen. The entire reason (or at least how I have been able to deal with the unclear nature of it) is that Hakuno's wish inadvertently caused an contradiction in the Moon Cell's processing: Hakuno was a bug and thus needed to be deleted but, because of their wish, the Moon Cell couldn't delete Hakuno because they were technically still a NPC of the Grail War and, with the Grail War being over, their task was finished. The only way for the Moon Cell to basically get out of this processing error was by recognizing Hakuno as a human and, thus, being the only human left on the Moon ended up receiving the Regalia and becoming the Sovereign of SERAPH as well as being the representative for humanity. Yet here we are with them apparently being deleted because their role is finished (even though we've established the Moon Cell shouldn't be doing that anymore). And then there is the fact that this is EXTELLA Hakuno. You know, the one that experienced the Saber Route ending. The one that canonically gets married to Nero and also has Tamamo as their lover and Altera Larvae as their adopted daughter and that's just Extella. Between Charlie likely becoming a younger brother and Karl becoming a father figure, Hakuno basically was making a family for themselves. Yet here we just hear nothing about them. No Nero, no Tamamo, no Altera, nothing. No it because all about B fucking B. You know, the girl they should have long since gotten over with and, in fact, shouldn't have had feelings for them in the first place. You know because Extella Zero follows the Saber Route of CCC but with extra stuff happening? Did you forget that too, Nasu, because you already forgot and retconned Hakuno not remembering the events of CCC, with Nero only remembering Liz but not knowing where they met and Tamamo remembering everything but likely keeping it to herself in Extella in multiple scenes but I guess we are just full on sending it with that part of the Extella Zero notes being wrong. Which begs the question of what else in those notes are just incorrect. And the worst thing about this: Nasu had a Hakuno that could have easily come in and fit better than Extella Hakuno when it comes to interacting with BB: CCC ending Hakuno. You know, the one Hakuno that decided to not fight BB but to talk to her? The one that promise that they would protect her and Sakura before Kiara pulled her bs? You have the CCC ending that is basically leaves what happens in their world open ended and Nasu could have, not only finally closed that loose end up, finally bring this whole CCC arc he's been doing in FGO to a proper conclusion by having CCC Hakuno and White Sakura return and ultimately save BB. It would have been so much better but, nope, we have Hakuno basically abandon their family that they've known for a thousand years just to go die with a girl they haven't seen and probably thought about for literal centuries. And then theres the Amnesia Syndrome. So Alaya just decided to kill off humanity then, is that it? And if it is connected to Ayala, how come Twice was able to develop a surgery that cures the disease? Why would a single living human be able to cure a disease created by the Counter Force? It's bad enough we have a ritual taking place in Extra that shouldn't even exist because it's made by a race that, in theory, shouldn't exist that ultimately causes the poles to shift and the metaphorical shit to hit the fan but now we have Alaya just deciding "Fuck it" and playing Nurgle for no real reason. Overall, I am not looking forward to Extra Record if this is the sort of writing we are getting from Nasu in terms of Extraverse's writing quality.

Don't take me wrong, I love Hakuno, he and Tamamo in Extra convinced me to give the Fate franchise a chance over a decade ago and I picked the male one over the female because I always played with him... but I always considered things must have an end. And this wasn't so bad. After all, we heard what they did, how hey lived for 1000 years until it was their time to finally walk out and then saw how they got a last moment of respite; from enjoying life normally as civillians to fighting to their hearts content as servants. Even bid farewell to BB as well. I think they got what they deserved: a proper ending in their own terms after a life of struggles. Who doesn' deserve that? Now, as for seeing more of them later on... maybe with the release of Extra Record, we could have a collab where we see them again in action (preferably, BEFORE the events of Moon Dubai).
