I'd say he is a godsend for either new accounts or accounts with weak rosters. Being so self-sufficient just make him an universal good pick, but needing little to no set up from his allies means you only really need him. And for accounts with a weak selection of servants that can be really great. If you are new or lack a lot of the meta I'd definitely recommend him.

I'm collecting all the (at least elegible) Grand Servants, so ofc I rolled for him. After 330 bloody quartzes and about 20 tickets, I welcome 1 D'Eon, 2 Chiyome and Teddy Hulk to my roster (along with one more Heracles to reach NP3). I don't have the mats for Orion yet since I finished upgrading all the other servants I had. My next targets are Romulus, Castoria and Tamamo Vitch. Once Darby's Grand Berserker is revealed, he'll be the next on the list.

If I pulled all for Orion, idk how much sq I could accumulate before Kijyo kiyo and Castoria arrives. And I'm cautious that I might not get them so I have to save more. + There's Morgan, they say she's busted and that I might like her so I'll take their word for it

A meme support for him would actually be Moriarty, since after using Orion's NP, you actually meet the threshold for Moriarty's S2, which then allows Moriarty to give him extra attack with Evil Charisma. Since Moriarty's also an archer, it's actually a little doable

I think something really important to mention about Super Orion is that he's one of a few offensive SSRs who pretty much hits his potential even at NP1. Sure, the extra Attack stat you get from higher NP levels would help, but it's mostly inconsequential compared to everything else his NP gives. Most every other offensive SSR probably wants NP2, and if not, they need an NP interlude. This makes him an incredibly economical SSR to consider rolling for. You don't need to whale for multiple copies. That being said, if you want a servant who is even better for soloing than him, QSH is almost as freakish and has a bunch more survivability and team synergy.

Black Xel but he excels in being much more tanky and durable than sorion while also having a lot of attack and crit buffs for himself and can even provide more team support overall. That said I guess sorion beats him in terms of just raw power so yeah they both have their strengths and weaknesses I guess.

Despite almost no one having him, Edison is actually a pretty good support for Soopa Orion. - S1 reduces his cds, giving him even better uptime on his busted skills - S2 with a 2030 generates 18 (20 if mlb) stars per turn, meaning that orion never has to worry about stars ever, and also passively gains np for himself, making the times you have to click edison cards rare if ever - S3 turns into a 50% crit damage buff with orion, due to the great scaling on orion's np oc effect, solidifying their synergy And the np mostly acts as an np seal, giving orion more time to unga bunga

I disagree about team comps. Orion works extremely well with Castoria and Tamamo, due to his insane NP gain on his Arts card, his NP which gives him 100% crit up for 3 turns and can be spammed, Castoria's NP charge and Tamamo's skill cooldown (which puts Orion's busted 3rd skill off cooldown much faster). Summer Artoria Ruler is also a great support, giving him crit up and removing her cards from the deck so Orion can be more consistent. On top of the crit supports you mentioned, there's also Merlin of course, and Koyanskaya in the future. He's one of the Servants with the most support options in the game.

To add more onto what was said in the video, he’s really good with np charge CEs, mostly Kscope. The bonus damage from CEs won’t make much of a difference compared to the buffs his kit provides so getting started on your NP loop since the start is good. Also for command codes, any star bomb CCs (use santa alter on him if you can). It may not seem like much but it’ll help you round crits on set up turns for your NP or when his s2 is down/or when you’re keeping it for the next turn. All in all great servant, sadly I’m gonna have to try snagging him the GSSR, all my sq are kept for LB5.2’s second banner Edit: I did get lucky and got him after 20 tickets and 60 sq ! Not touching my stash again until Romulus

I was never really aiming for him per se, but I figured I'd at least try, and maybe I'd get lucky, like I did with QSH. Did a couple of YOLO multis when his banner came out, but didn't get him. Then today, I got enough free SQs from doing the quest nodes to do another multi. Got a rainbow spark... and it was Artemis. I was getting a little peeved after getting teased by a gold Archer card like that, so I tapped away the rest of the summon animations, and after a few CEs, the very last pull had a gold sparkle, and then it turned out to be Orion. On one hand, that was an emotional roller-coaster. On the other, I just got the weirdo genki couple in a single multi, so I probably shouldn't complain. With this, there'll be the new year's GSSR, and I won't be rolling for anyone until next anniversary and Castoria. Considering I got every single SSR servant I aimed for this year (including getting Junao, USAshi, and Spishtar to NP2), I can only hope stockpiling both my luck and my SQs will help be get Castoria and I won't become another one of those forum horror stories...

Thanks for this! I've been looking forward to him for a while now. I have a nice account, but 2 things I'm still lacking are a good single target Archer or Berserker. (I did somehow roll an Archer of Inferno last week while using some tickets to get Anastasia. I don't think that will dissuade me from my plan.) He also seems like he's very NP1 friendly, which is great for a DPS. Fingers crossed. He and Castoria are the only servants on my radar for the next year almost. (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone.)

Got him while trying (and failing) to NP5 Mandricardo. Gotta say Orion works really well even only at NP1, which is unusual for a Limited 5*. Still need to try the teamcomp with Double Merlin tho. I mean, he literally one-turned the first quest of Atlantis (which is time-limited) with a Brave Chain, not even a Buster Brave Chain.

He is by far and large the best Archer in the game. He puts Gil and ishtar to shame and is definitely worth summoning, he's the Grand Archer for a reason. 12:21 yeah so true, actually I think supports only weigh him down(the reason why I say this is cuz he literally needs brave chains for his main dmg so having other servant's will make it harder to get brave chains), unless u have like Merlin or smthg but honestly even without Merlin he is still a god

Oh, dear... :| To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this new schedule. I mean, sure, I love the idea of us being able to get Mandricardo, Europa and Orion early, but I was hoping we could get some more SQs with the Christmas Event first. Nobody I'm wishing to roll for in that Banner, so I was hoping to "restock" there, considering I'm currently only at 160 SQs and I doubt I'll increase by much more once Atlantis hits NA. :\ But as for your Review, I must say it was eye-opening. :) I was already aware of Super Orion's extremely absurd Crit gamestyle, but I had *no idea* how good it was until you actually dellved in deep on his stats and what makes him so good. All I can is that I was never happier to know this guy shares a Banner with the one I'm aiming for, Europa. Because that means that, while I try to summon for best Greek mom, I might also have a decent enough chance to pull this big bear. All while having 3* Mandricardo lowkey available on the back. Banner 1 of Atlantis might damn well be the last great Banner this year where I throw everything I have at it! _(which is why I was hoping it would happen _*_after_*_ Christmas 5)_

He's a darn good servant and I wish those rolling the best of luck. For a variety of reasons I'll have to pass this time. Having used up a lot of quartz on Summer Melt and (failing to get) Space Ishtar is one. But I'm pretty happy with my group of Archers (Kuro, Ishtar, Jeanne, Atalante, etc). And yeah, I'm mostly using my quartz on waifu pulls. So there is that element. But there's no question the guy is good at what he does.

My issue with SOrion is that what sets him apart is... a skillset that deals absurd damage under the best conditions for ONE turn. The game largely moved away from that being great when Break Bars were introduced. Now it's true that he doesn't just stop there, given that his NP gives him more Crits than just one turn, but I don't think it's enough to compensate for losing a damaging NP, because Crits are by their nature unreliable. (Of course, you can build a team around that, usually with Summer BB, but if you need another specific Limited SSR Servant for that, it's not a very good indicator of his quality.) But the absurd damage largely never matters because if I'm facing 300k Break Bars or something, I can break that in one turn without him. Probably EASIER, because there's no need to fish for the Crits. This makes him feel more like an unnecessary flex than anything. Is he good? Sure, yeah, but he deals numbers far higher than you actually need. That puts a cap on how much it matters. All of that was assuming a team, of course, and you can say that solos is where he truly excels. And you know, that's fair. But that alone, I feel isn't enough for an S, he has competition on that front, from the likes of the Emperor, who also happens to have a Crit based gameplan, but much more defensively oriented. But he also brings defensive taunt utility into team comps. (Actually having checked though, you DID give Shi Huang Di an S, so... consistency?) Overall, I'd say he's like an A+. While he has a lot of good going for him, I feel like that good is not necessary in the game currently, so having a different good Archer largely invalidates the need to have him.

Yeah, as much as I love Super Orion, he is a 1-turn killing machine and that's it, which is why Van Gogh, when she comes next year in NA, is a superior crit servant as she can do the same stuff but for 3 turns or more and also share the fun with others (for some truly insane things with double Van Gogh shenanigans), especially if those others are foreigners... but not only (we're starting to get more servants with that passive, so far summer BB, Okita J. Souji and Ranmaru X, all ready to become crit monsters under Van Gogh).

50% atk buff (NP + skill) for 3 turns, comically easy to spam NP, completely invalidating the issue with star gen thanks to the star engine it provides combined with even the tiniest bit of stars from another source (like his own second skill, or just a Hans lmao). The nonsensically low cool downs on his skills also ensure that face card RNG isn’t an issue as you’ll have his skills back up soon enough anyway. Will you get the +1m crit numbers all the time? Lol, no, but a buster 150k crit every two or three turns is basically all you need. He’s genuinely busted to the point where his downsides are more nitpicks than anything else.

@@yorokobeshitbag4618 Oh of course Super Orion is unbelievably broken, as far as beat sticks in FGO go, he is THE ONE. But for my money, if you have to pick just one crit god, I think Van Gogh offers more bang (because of double Van Gogh) while you can grab a support Super Orion and you won't lose any of his functionality. Even cooldown lowering shenanigans you can still do later on (when Vitch comes out in NA) with just that support Super Orion. Meanwhile you need your own Van Gogh for double Van Gogh. All that being said, those two are far enough apart that what I said might not even matter and you can just get both, haha, both works too.

That might not be the most accurate comparison. He's not going to use all 3 of his procs on skill 3 in one turn most of the time unless you're going for soloing.

The only reason I'm here is because I randomly got him on the last of my monthy summon tickets. He was the last thing I expected showing up. He spooked me as a silver card too. I was gunning for a CE at the time.
