I've spent the past two weeks combing through FG videos to get myself and my players up to speed. Yours are by far the best. the information is concise and direct. the video is sharp and easy to understand. they're well paced, neither dragging and hard on the ADD types, nor too rushed to comprehend. I love that all this information is broken into individual, digestible videos and then internally indexed for easy navigation. This is doubly important for sharing with players who certainly don't want to sit through hour+ long videos. Just what i've been looking for all along. Thank you.

The vid forgot to cover the targeting requirements. If you don't have an enemy targeted the program doesn't know what to check for AC and such. Control click works, or you can take the die and drop it on top of the enemy you want to attack. I think the combat tracker works too. As a DM I usually don't bother to click through targeting and just grab the die and drop on on the token of the PC on the map.

What a great map! Where did you get it, if I may ask?

Thanks! Obviously props to the talented artist, but unfortunately I can't remember. I usually do a google image search for "D&D map" but set the filter to "larger than 4mp" sometimes I also add "dundjinni" or "campaign cartographer" to the query. Hope you can track it down!

How does a PC in combat use a Healing Potion?
@urzaz3 жыл бұрын
Fantasy Grounds is CAPABLE of automating a lot of things but it does not automate *everything*. Most of what it's automating are the basic combat things like attacks, saves, and some conditions. So the Healing Potion item by default is just a normal item that describes what it does. The player can then roll 2d4 (by grabbing the dice and rolling) and the DM heals them for 2d4+2, just like in a normal game. If you wanted to, you COULD make a custom effect in Fantasy Grounds that automatically applies 2d4+2 healing to whatever creature you apply it to. There's also modules for sale on DMsGuild that add effects for every magic item in the 5e sourcebooks, but I'm not how much added benefit those would give you. If you're interested in automating more things, definitely look into how coding effects in Fantasy Grounds works, then you can do your own custom stuff as well.
