Great video Bob! You do so much work on this topic! I am 100% on your side. Use the map just to get my bearings too! Follow livestreams regularly and see everyone using the map trick! Even at the smallest obstacle! It's unfair and often you lose even with a better car! A good defence is therefore useless! Really sad! Don't get annoyed and keep making those nice videos! The mystery is why cheaters and map trick gamers want to avoid to drive in a driving game, why they do not want to fight in a battle royale. There is many game that will bring them what they want.

So we got many conflict of arguments in elim 1. There are people who dosen't like map trick. 2. There are people who doesn't like trap. 3. There are people who dosen't like to get push/blocked when in race. 😅

Great effort on making this video, i agree with you that it's making the game easier, but you can't ghost destructible objects or jumps so without map knowledge map trick won't help anyone anyway. Map trick users aren't driving straight all the way, it's not working like that, they just avoid potential risk of losing because of hitting other or destructible obstacles. And in FH5 map is so flat that 90% of the races are full straight and it all depends on who have faster car. I'm personally using it because i just play for wins, only winning count for me (without cheat programs of course). And ghosting objects and players after clikcing map is actually a feature in the eliminator, so normal players will not crash each other and will don't get slowed down by some object when checking map. Good players are just using it for the advantage. I can easily prove that it's a feature because in playground games after clicking map your car is still moving, but you aren't ghosting anything. I completely understand you, you have a good point but that's not everything 100% like you said on the video. Also thanks for using my clips!😅 And actually at 9:30 at my first map click i was just checking where the finish is.

Hello Mati, I know I’m a little bit caricatural when I explained that the map trick changes the game in drag race between ghost cars in an empty car park but it’s to show how this trick is ridiculous and absurde in a driving game. I disagree with you, it’s not a feature. If it’s a feature, exotic cars and the fact that cheats are possible are also features wanted by the dev. I don’t think so. I played 2 years to eliminator in fh4, nobody was using the map trick. It was imported later by FH5 map trick gamers to FH4. People discovered this bug in FH5 because there are much more breakable objects in FH5. I’m ready now to hear the theory that the dev built a much more complex map with tons of breakable objects in FH5 to ensure that people discovered this « feature » nobody had discovered before in FH4.

It's a difficult one - and the main reason it is difficult, is because it exists in the game. There will never be a gentleman's agreement between all the top racers to NOT use the maptrick - which means that there's always the excuse of levelling the playing field. However, using the maptrick to gain an advantage by skipping obstacles and avoiding blocks goes against the spirit of the Eliminator, in my opinion. I don't think it's cheating, but I do think it is used unfairly. Kindof like in F1 where they have the technical regulations, and the sporting regulations. If you breach the technical regs, it's straight up cheating. If you breach the sporting regs, it's going against how things should be done. That's how I feel about it anyway

Nice video production Bob, brings a new meaning to GG! 😅👻 I've got a pile of footage I was going to make into a video myself. Map Trick is very well known now, 1 or 2 years ago it was much less common. I am torn myself as sometimes I had victories brutally robbed where I could have used the map trick to win (eg. griefer), or people have used it to defeat me. I also cannot say I've never used it myself 😳 To make it a level playing field the glitch needs to be removed from the game as otherwise players will simply use it to gain an advantage. Players are also using it in the new Forza Motorsport to prevent rammers. I respect your opinion and I always enjoy a close race when some paint gets traded 😁👍💯

Dear all, during Summer Break my weekly "seasonal best of" is also in vacation. I will repeat what i said to you on Aeroc66 channel. Fighting against ghosting in Eliminator. Is like fighting against steroids in modern sports. Everybody use it, and will use it. There is a lot of bigger problems in Eliminator then map trick. Long time ago i speak about real ghosting cheat, grip cheat, small improvements done by cheating program. But ok. FH5 is like open platform where devs don't give a single f about it, and what is going on, until dlc selling goes good.

Team physics should not be suspended when displaying the map. I never edited the video because I lost the motivation... but I think your map cheater champion is not even in the same category as my champion. IIRC he used 10ish map tricks... and rage quit as I reached the finish line. 🤣 As my solution against this cheat: - make displaying the "current (physics are suspended) map" last a few seconds and force the brakes at 50%. - add a "race map" that is actually usable that is centered on the mid point between your location and the finish line + zoomed so you see both your location and the finish line. If you are not in a race it should zoom out to show where you are versus the arena. Ideally it should only be displayed when the map key is pressed.

I understand your point of view but in my mind the main issue is the fact that the map trick gives an additional advantage to the fastest car. You can not in a head to head compensate the map trick of your fastest opponent by using map trick yourself. A slower car can beat a faster car using map knowledge, driving skills and nasty tactics such as trap, snipe, block… or by benefiting from the hazards of the map or the game. The map trick changes that and you can do nothing to avoid that even if you use map trick yourself. Nowadays I lose more game against map trick gamers than against cheaters. In this video i chose especially moments where map trick give an advantage even if the opponent use also map trick. Once against i understand your point, but even if is no really comparable as map trick can be viewed as a grey zone, i will not approve a cheater who are going to claim he cheats because other cheat The only chance is the dev to correct this point by for instance slowing down the car at 80% while viewing the map and/or maintain the map for 2 seconds Fabrice mentionned in this chat interesting alternatives

@@bobmaloubier73 I understand you and your comparison about my point of view, nice comparison. I'm a supporter of fair play and so I like you opinion. Other example: online circuit race and abstract game allows drive via walls in order to go around corners faster (I don't know if there is a slang definition for this in English, but in my language it sounds "по стеночке" - on the wall).The vast majority of players will use this trick, and me too, because in online mode I compete not with myself, but with other players. If I was competing with myself and my pure lap times, then I wouldn't use this trick. Since the developers allowed such a trick to be available, then excuse me. P.S. interesting ideas for fix "map trick" in FH5👍

@@vovalexeev i believe that the common term for wall trick in English is: Wall riding and wall riders. In some online game you receive a time penality/slow down when you hit wall to avoid that trick. The basic ideas to fix the map trick are not expensive for being developed so I hope that one day…

Not sure whats the issue here, people use all sorts of tricks to win the eliminator, a) Hunt lower level cars b) hide and then snipe. c) block opponents. d) lower graphic settings to have better visibility and fewer speed reducing objects. There are no rules and everyone just competes to win, anything sans game hack/cheats is fair in my opinion. When you snipe an opponent or have a head start in final showdown (due to random destination direction) do you wait to have a fair game? No, because its the eliminator !!! I dont know why you get riled up over map-trick alone.

The answer is very easy, I’m against every things that change the physics and the nature of the game. I’m against all cheats and bug exploits such as the map trick or exotic car selection. Nasty driving, unfair challenges, traps, snipes, map knowledge, manipulation, map hazard… I have no problem with that and I would add that is the fun of the game by giving a chance to a lower car to beat better car. Griefing or playing in group are also in my mind a possible tactics, I do not practice that, I do no like that especially but I do not consider that is not out of a battle royale spirit. What is the interest of call of duty if you can ghost your soldier when you are under fire, what is the interest of a boxing game if you can ghost your fighter when receiving hit. I’m not interested in such ridiculous game and this is the reason why I’m not interested in the ghost eliminator. Map trick was not identified by brillant players during the first 3 years of Fh4 and the first year of Fh5, i found the game more fun and challenging. Nowadays half of the game is ruined by cheaters and map trick gamers.

It doesn't bother me as much as genuine cheating as it's there for anyone to use as they wish. I'll admit I tried it a few times when I was first made aware of it but I found it more of a hindrance and made my game worse so I just don't bother with it! 😅 Why is it in the game though? Can anyone elaborate?

The dev were unable to solve a synchronization between different things as the same time. Difficulties of syncronisation were solved by ghosting cars. The same phenomenon happens also when there is contact between different things especially two cars and breakable objects. Changing that will be too expensive. I do not believe that it was done on purpose by the dev while they created tons of breakable objects and then ruins their work by a silly ghosting car feature. I just believe they are not able to do better and they will not spent time and money to change that

As you see in my video isn’t use only against rammers, I do not like map trick whatever the justification. You are going to find people who are explaining that teleport and speed hack are against grieffers. Map trick changes the game I like in a ridiculous game with ghost cars. Imagine call of duty with a trick that allows you to switch to ghost mode when you are under fire…

I disagree if the map trick was only a thing In fh5 u can argue it was and exploit but the fact that it was in fh4 means the devs purpose coded it into the game with intended of.ghosting if u go into the map. Also the eliminator is the only game mode where you ghost when u go into the map
