I've been playing Skyward Sword again and it just really makes me want Fi to come back. I never really thought about it but Fi has never actually been in battle? What if, like in Xenoblade, she helped Link in battle. I imagine they would change her character a little bit, maybe she could help in battle because BOTW Link is a swordsman. I mean, SS Link was in school, not that it really has that much of a connection but I think it makes sense. Anyways great video, looking forward to the next BOTW release journey!

Finally!!! I've been saying that Literally, no one is talking about the repeating voice of FI during the scene when the castle is raising up. (And you didn't even mention it) I think there is a VERY legitimate reason why they are pushing skyward sword this year, and then BOTW2. With FI's voice repeating and the sky islands...there is a clear linkage between the FIRST in the timeline and the LAST. So revisiting the skyward sword story for new gamers is a Great choice.

Lol, I just booted up Skyward Sword to replay and complete the series in 'canonlogical' order until the new game comes out. I'll start with the downfall timeline to replay the remake of links awakening. Yes, I'm a Zelda geek. Awesome theory, I remember getting chills when I heard Fi in BOTW.

I’m saying the “Seal” is Ghirahim, or connected to him in some way. That thing is freaking suspicious and outright FAILED as a True Seal. It did Nothing to keep the Malice in check...actually it blatantly ignored it...but immediately attacked Link? In Ghirahim’s signature Hand Grab (with the same sided hand, mind you)...and Ghirahim’s goal has always been to revive Demise and knows how to manipulate Seals...and the Zonai symbol and Alala Peninsula both bear a 1:1 to the Sealed Grounds...as does the Spiral drifting away from the Hand? Oh...and the Hand’s Music is very similar to Ghirahim’s Theme (and both take inspiration from the GameOver Theme from Zelda1...and Zelda has a habit of foreshadowing with music across their franchise) Hell. All the Funny Business in the “prophesy” and terrible treatment of the Sheikah in BotW, and the King gaslighting Zelda...all connects into Ghirahim’s favor, as does the treatment of the Gerudo in several games since Ghirahim bears a grudge to Link, Zelda, and Impa’s and Groose’s decedents (the Sheikah and Gerudo). The OneHitObliterator also looks like it took vague inspiration from Ganon’s Trident in other games, so what if Sealed Ganondorf really WAS the “hero” who fought Calamity, because Ghirahim murdered that era’s Link in a first attempt to yoink the Malice to revive Demise...which failed spectacularly. And since Link was gone and no one else could wield the Sword, the Sheikah made the OHO for Ganondorf and the army of Guardians/Beasts to deal with the First Calamity. (Aaaand then Ganondorf was betrayed, which seemed to be hinted at on the relief seen in the Teaser, anyway.) ...also the Zonai might be the Monsters’ ancestors, only they rejected Demise back then, but were then slaughtered by the Hylians...as usual. It’d actually explain their “barbarian aesthetic”...

I KNOW! It kinda makes sense too. For one of the only times, a human like form of Ganondorf has blood red glowing eyes. Who else has those? Demise. So if Fi awakens it would make sense Girahim would too. Plus, Girahim never really died. He just disappeared, and it kinda feels uncounted for, because Demise looked at his hand in what seemed like disgust or a father sighing at his child when the child did something stupid. Girahim might've escaped to make some plan to resurrect Demise. Also, Remember? Even if Demise kinda died, he could still be resurrected. And Also, Zelda falls and we loose Zelda. Where and why else do we loose Zelda? Cause of a resurrection.

Fi is my favorite character in the entire Zelda series. I don’t know why so many people think she’s annoying, and I don’t really care. The attachment I felt towards her the moment I started playing Skyward Sword as a child is unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced. That, combined with her sense of duty, her being the spirit of the Master Sword who is always by Link’s side throughout the series, and the actual presence of emotion at the end of Skyward Sword only made her even more special for me. I actually began to tear up when I got the final memory in BotW and I feel like she is really underrated and deserves another appearance. Even if she doesn’t appear in BotW I’ll just stick with the headcanon that she lives on :3

This could be the closest that Ganondorf would be to how Demise was back in skyward sword which could explain why Fi would come back, I always felt the DLC for BOTW was like a prologue to a bigger story

dbz legend55 I think Demise outright rejected Ganondorf. His Nebulous Malice did WAY more damage than Ganon(dorf) has ever done. (Possibly because Ganondorf’s Soul is actually Groose’s Soul keeping the Malice somewhat in check in a It Could DEFINITELY Be Worse sorta way. Basically, the Tether Demise used for the Curse was also what kept him from his full strength.) The “Seal” ignored the Malice entirely, and the Malice the “Seal”. However...both went after Link and Zelda, but particularly Link...in the same way Ghirahim does...who actually HAS sealing and soul magics in his skillset?! And...Ganondorf doesn’t Awaken until the Malice is essentially mostly drained from him and the Hand already released him in favor of attacking Link. (And if Ghirahim manipulated the the “Seal”, Prophesy, and Public/Royal Opinion against the Sheikah and Zelda...(with the Royal Family honestly making it easy for him-their hands are NEVER clean, and their go-to is various forms of genocide)...then...that actually explains a lot. He kinda has a grudge against the Sheikah (and possibly the Gerudo ‘cause Groose) in addition to Zelda and Link.)

I can imagine Fi starting to communicate about another danger in BotW 2, leading them to the depths of Hyrule Castle, where Ganondorfs corpse is to be found.

This theory is 100%! YAS! Even if we just heard her bleeping sounds, Fi DID come back in Botw, and honestly, I don't see any reason to not have her pop out of the sword in Botw2. Because Link's hand absorbs the ghost hand's energy, what if he temporarily cannot use the Master Sword anymore, but instead Zelda can. We've seen her at least holding the sword before (WW). Perhaps Fi will continue to guide and advise Zelda if Link is out of commission. I would like to see her wield it and whoop some boko butt tbh.

Fi was referenced several times in BotW, which also drew most of its inspiration from SS, so it’s highly likely that Fi will return in some way in the Sequel (perhaps as a result of the Sword losing its power. Fi’s single appearence was because the sword needed to be Forged, so if the Sword’s Voice returned while the power also decreased, it’s possible that Fi will return again as an indirect result.) And I’m still holding out hope for the “Seal” being Ghirahim or connected to Ghirahim. All it did was seal Ganondorf’s body to prevent reincarnation...but completely ignored the Malice and actually strengthened it, with the Malice nearly resurrecting. Ie, That’s Demise. And Ghirahim’s sole purpose was reviving Demise. Hell, the Hand even attacked Link in Ghirahim’s signature move, so...

I find it interesting that the only games that we see the Goddess Hylia are the games that we either see or hear Fi in. Might there be a connection between the fact that Hylia is only in games that Fi is at least referenced in? I wonder if Fi might actually be a Spirit that Hylia put into her divine form and Hylia before she chose to reincarnate as the first Zelda took the exact same form as Fi? It would certainly explain a few things.

If Fi comes back at least Ghirahim has to return too since he is her counterpart and Demise's sword and it did not really confirm that his dead or alive. I hope we can see more of her past, maybe she has a special relationship with Ghirahim, I wonder what would happen if he returns too. I do want to see Fi in her human form and if Ghirahim has 3 different forms, then it's fair that she can turn into a human with blue-purple eyes and blue short or long beautiful hair and have actual arms and hands to fight in combat with her sword fighting skills and some of her powers. I would love to see them get a new BOTW design ( it's still the same person but with a new look). Too bad they never get to meet in Skyward Sword face to face. It would be kinda funny while they are fighting Ghirahim would tease or flirt with her will they're alone or in battle.

Something poetic I’ve been thinking about, HMK. -So, long story short, since Ghirahim was essentially wrenched into a sword, it stands to reason at the end of Skyward Sword when Demise’s Sword disappears, Ghirahim leaves Demise in order to reattempt a future resurrection. For if they were both sealed away into the sword, it’s possible they could never return. (^ that bit’s a bit of a stretch) If Ghirahim left the realm created by Demise, then he could essentially plot to resurrect again. -But, Demise no longer has a host body, and how does Ghirahim handle it? Creating a new one from his own self, whilst unknowable elapsed time / unknown order of chronology so far up to BotW, rejuvenating himself like he did after battles with Link in Skyward Sword-effectively channeling new energy to create a body, supplementing it from Gerudo artifacts that might help channel Demise’s spirit back into a body. BotW 2 trailer? A struggle between Ghirahim and Fi, while she tries to prevent Ghirahim’s completion of this new body, which resembles Demise to a degree. ////////////////// She knows that Link and Zelda are the only ones that can prevent Demise from returning. The heard voice some hear say, “Help us, please.” is Fi crying out (when completing the Trial of the Sword, you hear a breathy voice from the Master Sword.) while channeling the power of Hylia. Her and Hylia are straining to contain Ganon/Demise by themselves.

I have a theory!!! This could be the last and strongest reincarnation of demise. From finale words of Zelda from the end of breath wild we know he supposedly gave up on reincarnation and this version of ganon was left in a mummified state. Yet we see that his presence is so strong that he’s leaking out malice. We already know that it took the master sword, the princess and then some to beat calamity ganon when he first appeared. I feel like they knew they needed the guardians be cause of their first encounter with the ganondorf in botw 2. No other version of ganon has had malice featured in their game except demise. One could say the reason malice is apart of botw because it was introduced in skyward sword. I would say it’s because he is the strongest next to or greater than demise himself. Plus the presence of fi could mean that he pose such a great threat like demise did. It would be fitting as well to have her in the because she was there when demise started the reincarnation and now she would be there when it’s at it end.

I hope this theory is true because You hear Fi's Music and her Sound once you complete the Final Trials in BOTW and Link closing his eye's and talking to Fi. You also hear her music and her Noise Three times in the 13th and final memery of BOTW when Link dies. Fi is speaking to Zelda and telling her that Link can be saved.

I don't think the Master Sword was fully upgraded. The Master Sword still loses power and needs time to recharge. I think that in the sequel, we will finally unlock it's true power and it will no longer lose energy.

hmm i liked this Theory, it would tie quie a few timelines into Zelda, but i have a question here which you did not go over, that is if FI guided link to Ganons Body its assumed that like trail of smell she followed Ganon to his source, now the malice (in your theory) was registered on the master sword as being part of Demise. could Fi find his body without the master sword acting like a magnet as she does not have a physical body to actually follow the so called scent. Also another question is that Fi wouldnt of seen ganons burial as its assumed that in twilight princess ganon died on his feet, at the end of twilight princess where Midna had shattered the mirror of twilight link is seen with his sword...... in fact that points out the master sword was removed before ganons was put in his resting place.......
