I like that you’re relatively new and make mistakes. Lord knows, I do! It adds to your personality as a YT’er and DIY’er. I like you take chances with art acrylic paint and just go for it! That’s my kind of DIY! I’m new to some items and love the thrift store even though my husband would rather me junk my moms Antique’s that she bought and refinished 🤬. I do have a large mirror with a gold leave type paint but the frame that doesn’t match our appliances and light fixtures. So I’m going to paint it silver so it’s not so shiny. We have a brass lamp on the piece but mixed metals are in so rather than get rid of it and buy another mirror at GREAT expense so why not tackle it with silver spray paint? I think it will take the silver paint and if it’s too bright, I’ll use some textured spray paint and go for it! I like repurposing thrift store items as their “trash is your treasure”! It’s been hard to let go of her pieces since she died and the Ethan Allen furniture is lovely (and expensive), I want to either sell it or change the old timey drawer pulls and re-pad her chair pads as they are a dark chartreuse color even if it goes with our SW rug. Picking a color will be a challenge! Haha! You do have good ideas and will continue to learn. Even though my niece does water color abstract on canvas very beautifully, it may not be possible for her to do a piece for us. But I’ll try. What’s the worse that can happen? Try, try again! I look forward to your newer ideas too! Best of luck! Woodworking is no joke! I will say you’re thorough with your explanation! ❤️❤️❤️ Edit: I’ve seen DIY’ers use spackle MIXED With paint. Maybe easier and one step making sure it’s thinner consistency!

I'm vegan and even *I* love antlers as decor. Shedding is absolutely natural, it's a process they go through with absolutely no input from humans. I just wish I lived in an area where they were more common to find!

That terracotta pot, I did a bunch of them with that same look. I used joint compound; it's super cheap compared to spackle; you can purchase a 2L tub for CAD 6. I find that you can make it thin and smooth, and smoothing it out makes those pitting textures.

The cereal box magazine holder was cute. A piece of stained scrap board cut to fit the bottom and glued on could add weight to keep it stable and add a little more design.

If you don't mind the mess and having to clean your surface afterwards, peanut butter works wonders to remove glue labels. It's way faster too. I love this cord wrapped ball. I've made smaller ones for my Christmas ornaments. I say less is best over less is more, which is an oxymoron ! The book end stones ate totally awesome. I love this idea. I've seen antlers used as bases for crystals and made into pendants that are drop dead gorgeous. I haven't seen them used as you've done here though. I remember I went away to college and I was like, people curb side just leave decent stuff. NOBODY does that where I’m from. Literally that curb side find AS IS would be on Craigslist for $50. I wish IKEA shipped to where I live. That’s why free finds aren’t a thing here. It’s usually an addict who stole it, that’s where you’ll find good deals. And Habitat for Humanity is a joke. Costs more than Target furniture Other than that I really enjoyed this video. Rocks, tree branches, and cereal boxes? Yep that I can get ahold of.

Regarding papermasje’, I just use Wheat flour and water, blend it to a porriage consistency, and this is a child and environmently friendly glue, and tear news paper into pieces, dab this into the homemade glue and cover the botle or whar you want to cover. You most go for several layers. Let dry. Blend sand into the paint to get å rough look.
