My sister had a 128 back in the 1970s. It was a very cute car in a sort of retro light blue cream color. She went to school at Utah State and that little motor struggled to scale the mountains. I never see them on the road today.

Why not just channel out the main caps to make it look mint and flush?

Nice girdle but pretty useless if made from aluminum. If you want to stiffen things up its not greatest idea to use material that has so low elastic modulus

vampirwrr It really doesnt, the elastic modulus is pretty much identical from alloy to alloy. Whole problem is that if you try to stiffen cast iron object with aluminum, the cast iron part will fail before aluminum carries significant amount of load. Steel has 3 times higher elastic modulus compared to aluminum and is the preferred material for applications like this.
