Fiat 500 bluetooth or AUX install - Quick, cheap and easy

In this video, I'll show you how to quickly install Bluetooth or AUX in a Fiat 500. This is a simple process and doesn't require any special tools apart from the Bluetooth Module (linked below) and the head unit removal keys which come with the module.

Thanks for this video. For folks who are not sure, I bought a Fiat 500 Lounge (uk model) 2009. It has a USB port in the car but no Aux. The system didn't have a CD changer, and when I pressed sources, I couldn't see one listed, so I was a bit sceptical of this. I bought from the links below, and they arrived within 10 days. The adapter was great, but I had to use a knife to cut it in half so the blue music could plug directly into the stereo and then the steering wheels part could plug back into the adapter. Was a bit fiddly cutting it, and I am sure you can buy a better adapter. But everything worked great; I have hands-free and Bluetooth using Spotify on my phone. So very happy. Thanks

Installed today and music streaming is working a treat. I have Blue and Me, operated via the steering wheel. In order to take phone calls in the normal way do i retain the blue and me connection together with the blue tooth + connection? Or will the phone operate purely via the bluetooth + module? Right now, my phone is showing options to connect to both. Thanks

thanks for the video, this helped me figure out that I needed an additional adapter. I'm experiencing a very annoying interference issue. Don't notice it that much when the volume is high, but it's there.. has to be some other radio signal. The interference is there even if I disable BT on my phone and while I'm driving on highway etc. Need to do a test with my phone on airplane mode, but maybe you have some suggestions. My guess is that the dongle simply is sensitive for radio signals..Putting the phone on the backseat didn't have any impact. Wrapping the thing with something to block the interference probably causes issues with the BT connection. Am I the only one experiencing this? Should I send it back for warranty? Hope I can somehow fix it myself.

Do you know what do do when the AUX works for couple of seconds and them switches to radio back again? I have Fiat 500 09’ with blue me. It appears that it needs to switch to media player permanently, but i am unable to do that.

Thanks, great video! I prefer the Music only variant in order to keep the original Blue&Me for phone calls. Will the phone be able to connect to the 2 different bluetooth devices simultaneously and seamlessly? (Sony Xperia 10 II and 5 II) If the above is not true or not recommeded for a certain reason, how the Music & Calls version can be integrated into the car's original audio system? E.g., is it possible to answer calls from steering wheel buttons?

The asnwer is: YES! It works like charm, even the music is muted while answering a call.

Hey I’m having a similar issue. So I bought a new usb adapter and still doesn’t work so don’t waste that money on that. I had a 12 plate and could play music with a cable but with the 09 plates as I’ve now found don’t like new phones. I’m scouting to see if this is a viable option too but In short didn’t want you to waste good money on a usb that won’t even charge ya phone 🤦🏼‍♀️ I thought it was just my usb hence why I bought a new one-don’t think there was anything wrong with the old

Hey 😊You need to buy the Bluetooth Module and the Blue & Me adapter. This should work perfectly with any pre-2016 Fiat 500.

It means your head unit has trouble recognising the module. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the module to the head unit. Inspect the cables and the plug of the module to make sure it's not damaged. Make sure you've plugged it in firmly and correctly. If this doesn't help, you might have a faulty adapter. If you bought it from Amazon, reach out to them, and I'm sure they'll send you a new one free of charge.

Did you fix it? Same issue here and same car year. From what I've seen in this video and others, my case is a little bit different from older models. The existing connector that is plugged into the unit has 8 connection cables attached, while in other videos I've seen, there are only three real cables attached to the connector. The connector in mine is white while in others is black. If I completely disconnect it, and only connect the BT adapter (to test it) its says "No source avaiable" although I can connect to it with my mobile phone. I suspect they changed connections in the unit in newer models... just guessing.

@@WonderHit Hi, were you able to fix this problem? I just installed a Bluemusic Bluetooth adapter in my 2015 Fiat 500 Pop North American model, radio says "Mexico". Same as you, the OEM connector that needs to be disconnected to install this blue connector is one piece all white with what appers to be 6 wires connected to it, all on the same side as where the blue Bluetooth connector will plug in. I have the same problem "no source available". And for me there seems to be no power to the Bluetooth module, my phone does not see any BT device available.

@@daromani Hey Dario. No, I temporarily abandoned it, and for the time being, we're using a usb-bt + AUX cable adaptor plugged to the car usb and aux ports to stream audio from spotify until we sort this out. I will let you know if I finally solve it. Regards.
