You are forgetting one very important issue. The tridion safety cage of the Smart. It’s a much safer car than the 500.

I have owned both and enjoyed them both. I had the previous body of the smart, though. I got the fiat when I became a father and needed a proper back seat. I have a Hyundai now and it’s a very practical car, but if you asked me which of the two I would get again...I’d pick the smart without a doubt. I loved my smart car.

I bought a brand new Smart fortwo 2013 for 140.000 sek (14.000 €) and it was my worst purchase I have ever done. After 20.000 km I sold it 2014 for 6.000 €. The terrible problem was the gearbox, it change gears so slow! The second, it was deadly dangerous to drive it in the winter. It was IMPOSSIBLE! Today I go only by e-bike. /Sweden
