Thank you for your kind words. It was really fun to make, especially the upholstery. Since this video I have removed the back seats and made two removable boxes that fit in the rear footwells, gives me just a little more space but makes a big difference. I also added a shelf above the front seats, blinds and curtains at the front. I need to make another video!

This is so clever! With 3 kids I was wondering about doing a Doblo/berlingo camper conversion for day trips. I was worried about being able to keep the rear bench but you've shown this is possible with style! Thank you :)

I can do better than that, since I made it I have transferred the plans onto sketchup. I will shortly be finishing this off and then I'll put a link to the file in the description. You can get all the measurements from that. It will also include the optional upgrade that I made by taking out the rear seats and replacing them with two removable foot-well boxes (where the lids double up as an extending bed support as well as a seat back).

Nice car. Just a question, have you ever tested the camper on a rainy day?

Yes, I took this to Scotland. Rain is not so much fun but it's doable. The seat above the cooker is a hinged lid so I can open it and cook inside as an emergency, but I try not to as you can build up moisture pretty quick. What I ended up doing on my camping trip was throwing a tarp over the back doors and strapping it down to the back wheels using bungee cords to make a little awning to cook inside. That works really well.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the SketchUp model - very helpful! Just wondering if your Doblo is a facelift or pre-facelift version and if you know how this effects the design?

It’s a 2005 (high top) model, so pre-facelift. I’m not sure how that affects the interior space. As for my bootjump design, the back boxes are the absolute maximum length to fit behind the seats (as the seats lean back at an angle it gives a gap at the bottom so you can store the table leg).

The initial question is how is that grid attached that places close to the front seat in the rear chest? What are the measurements of this piece? For the bed all extended stays with what measures?

I have recently made a computer model of the boot jump. It doesn't include the fold up bed section. But each of the main pieces were 50cm wide by 118cm. I don't have the measurements for "leg sections" that double up as the bench seat support (into the head rests), but I could measure for you if you like.

oui, je suis en train de terminer la conception sur l'ordinateur. mes notes originales étaient sur beaucoup de bouts de papier (dans la vidéo), mais je les traduis maintenant. Le modèle informatique sera beaucoup plus facile à utiliser et à prendre des mesures. Cherchez bientôt une autre vidéo avec un lien vers la conception!

I have made a scale model of the Doblo Boot jump, it includes my more recent updates of footwell boxes (once back seats are removed). You can take all the measurements from that model. I used a piece of software called Sketchup. The part at the front is the same. I just added the construction of two foot-well boxes to give me more space. I’ve recently taken measurements from the bench seat support (that sits on the back of the folded down rear seats) so I will add this to the model... if this is what you mean?

The plans I made were just sketches, though the measurements were very accurate. You can see some of the sketches at the start of the video. I’m not sure they would make much sense to other people. I’d be happy to help with any information you need.
