Kinda crazy how LMH has the same amount of manufacturers as the peak of P1 hybrid did. There was great close racing; but I guess it was less of a commercial success. In comparison the LMH/DH sign ups already exceed that by miles.

Only because every loser manufacturer can enter and be lifted into competitive performance level by BoP. Technical challenge basically zero, general public interest accordingly.
@coyy91062 жыл бұрын
@@armorgeddon Technical challenge does not give the viewership numbers. What it does give are ridiculous development costs.
@armorgeddon2 жыл бұрын
@@coyy9106 Well, viewership numbers will prove you wrong. Apart from NASCAR where fans don't care if current tech or dinosaur tech crashes into something. The series with the most technological level have always been the most watched. Also technical challenge is why motorsports was invented in the first place and development costs are ok if the development means that something for research and production is learned.
@slicktires20112 жыл бұрын
@@armorgeddon Agreed, this is supposed to be the top prototype class in the world. And it worked well for many years. Also, LMP1 has only 2 car makers, Toyota and Glickenhaus. Alpine uses a modified LMP1 and the others are just promises for now.
@jaglemans67782 жыл бұрын
@@slicktires2011 LMP1H worked for 3-4 years before costs and other factors killed the class. Hypercar will be an era with over half a dozen major manufacturers, customer cars, and sustainable costs. We could even see a Hypercar Pro and Am class. With the latter replacing LMP2. That will depend on supply and costs for customer cars.

yellow flags but cars can still go 200kmh through the corner?! I'm glad that we have FCY nowadays because that's really dangerous. also very unlucky for any prototypes getting stuck behind a GTE in that zone because the GTE would be allowed to go full speed but the prototype can not overtake and will be losing a lot of time compared to cars without traffic in that specific corner

You take the same Doctor Ulrich and his pilotes and LMP1 fly once again to be checkerd first, in spite of the left and right pif-paf or "eau rouge" dive and creep.
