My dad would have been a young boy when he listened to the radio. inspiring him to be on radio here in the US and during Reconstruction in Japan after WW2. He shared with us these shows prerecorded in his later years. thanks, dad.

Yes, Jim & Marian Jordan went on the air the previous April. At that time, Fibber & Molly were "wanderers on the open road", and delivered comedy routines in between musical and vocal numbers. And they- and Don Quinn, who wrote the show- knew that things would have to change in order to make it "better". So, they settled down in Wistful Vista that September, and fine tuned the program so that it eventually became more of a domestic comedy, with ONE musical and vocal interlude per show.

@@fromthesidelines . thank you for the background on this. Who'd a' thought history could be so fun. I love fibber. I want to marry fibber. Molly is such a tender heart, i want to be like Molly; very patient, never reproaching, and she is a wonderful role model for teeny. M. IL.

I don't hear even a trace of "static"...I would think am radio in the early year of 1935 would have to had at least some static in the background....was it likely "cleaned up" for purposes of easier listening now?...thanks...
