Vynlester is good for petrol or diesel but do not use fuel with ethanol in it. Ethanol turns the resin to a sludge and will block filters very quickly. Unfortuanetly qld doesnt have to declare ethanol in fuel up to 10 percent i think, whilst all ethanol additive has to be declared in SA. Hence we have had no problems with our fuel in SA but major dramas in qld. Good rebuild by the way very professional. Legends boat works.

Top effort BTW. Though that would be the case with trying to weld it in position, heat input on stainless etc and destroying the glass work .. Hmmm, I did originally mention that, but there were a couple of warrior's that disagreed with my comments and knew better. Anyway, that said, everyone learns by their mistakes, and anyone who says that they've never made a mistake is a flog IMHO... It's a good learning curve, you could of as easily edited that out, top effort in owning it. Next,, how are you going to join the breather and fuel line tubes, I suggest either viega crimp fittings, swagelok or gyrolok fittings.. You can always glass over the fittings for piece of mind.. Be aware you need the correct tube size for the fitting not all tube size is compatible with those fittings, pretty sure viega fittings are different sizes to gyrolok and swagelok tubing. Cheers 🍻

Thanks JB! I sleeved the pipe with some larger stainless pipe and glued it with a resin and talc mix. I put a hose clamp ether side and glued and glassed over the top of that. I did forget to mention this in the video. Thanks for watching!

Curious why you didn't use bulkhead fittings rather than the custom SS welding.

Looks like it will work fine now no issues. Have you considered laying some glass on the sides of the hull above the floor?

I have added three layers of glass to the sides. I forgot to mention that in the video.

Do you have an update on the fiberglass that was sitting in the fuel

I do, there’s no apparent damage to the resin and glass and the fuel has mostly evaporated with no signs on resin in it. The fibreglass is not tacky and seems to of held up after all these months.

Is there any reason you didn't have the fuel tank forward of your kill pen? My mate has the same boat and thats how his is set up

Brad that’s a good question and I thought a lot about the position of the fuel tank and kill box. I did it this way because I was concerned about having too much weight forward. I looked at as many 600r’s online as I could find and they all had the fuel tank at least a foot behind the forward bulkhead. My other concern was that I felt the boat was a little nose down during my initial sea trails and I didn’t want to end up with a nose down boat. You can fix an ass heavy boat a lot easier than something that is trimmed too far by the bow. That said I’d be very interested in knowing how your mates 600r performs with that configuration but also how many litres the tank is? Cheers

@ADVENTURES ADRIFT AUSTRALIA my mates boat performs awesome but he also has a full hull extension pod on his. Powered by a yammy 200hp 4cyl. Recent full composite rebuild as well fuel capacity is around 200lt but did have a larger tank before cutting it down👍

The hull extension would definitely change the characteristics of the boat. Sounds like a weapon of boat though! I can’t wait to have mine back in the water!
