First. I am obsessed with this outfit. It looks so cute. Second. I'm not sure I have any anticipated books this year. Spring semester starts soon so my brain just doesn't have the capacity to think about those things right now.

I think one of my fave YA authors has to be Rachel Lippincott. I have all of her books. Waiting to buy her newest one in April. I came across Jasmine Guillory when I bought “While We Were Dating” from Target a couple months ago. Read all the other books by her of the character relationships in that book. Can’t wait for her 2022 release. She’s my fave adult contemporary romance author. If Stephanie Perkins decides to write another contemporary ya romance or write an adult romance then I’ll be sure to buy it!

So many of our Most Anticipated Books are the same (I see you, Bestie), but another one on my list is My Imaginary Mary. Historical reimagining of What if Mary Shelley and Ada Lovelace were friends? (I've read an early copy already and it's really fun.) I'm sort of obsessed with this series? The first is My Lady Jane which is about Lady Jane Grey. They give her the ending she deserves. Highly recommend, especially on audio. ❤️

Dear Joel, How are you? I hope you are well. I have discovered your channel a year ago...but I am very shy and I don't normally comment...so, hi. First of all, I want to congratulate for being able to talk with us about literature so well-versed and intimate (it is not easy). Your channel has become a sort of refuge for me. I like hearing you talk about books, specially the authors belong to minorities (I do know if there's a proper term for these type of authors, I am sorry. I am from Spain and I do not know if in English you use the same terms). As for all the books you have mentioned you have created me unknown needs, to be honest. But if I have to pick I need like ASAP 'Gallant', 'Ophelia after all' (the encanto vibes make me happy) and 'Babel' (The premise is INCREDIBLE!). I haven't read the author yet, but this may be the time...as the book calls me very, very hard. Do you know if it is a standalone? Oh, and before I forget, have you ever considered do introduction videos to literary time periods with your favorite books of said times as recommendations? I have always been tempted to study English literature but I inclined more towards journalism so...I am looking for a non-academic recommendations that teach me things about English lit. Congrats about your masters, btw! I hope you are enjoying the experience...and don't forget to rest! Lots of hugs from Spain

This is a great list! I already got a copy of Daughter of the Moon Goddess, and can't wait to read it. My MOST anticipated book this year, though, is Tessa Gratton's "Moon Dark Smile". It's a sequel or a companion story to her "Night Shine" - which I'm still in the process of reading, but her writing style has me on the floor and after reading her "Queens of Innis Lear" (a retelling of King Lear; I disliked the change in ending and despised one of the main characters, but everything else had me HOOKED) I am on the path of reading everything she publishes. Night Shine and Moon Dark Smile are both dark fairy tale-esque stories with queer elements, so like. Chef's kiss.
