This is not an Irish folk song. Lmmfao! It's an extremely popular song by American artist - Steve Earle. This is a prime example of people posting shit when they have absolutely no damn clue what they're actually posting about. Not to mention the fact that 19 others who naively gave this comment a thumbs up and it will only ascend. Bunch of morons! 😂

@@spmoran4703 Beauchamb is actually a name from English history even though it is a French word. Richard Beauchamp Earl of Warwick was prominent in English history. I suspect that after 1066 when the Normans won the battle of Hastings the Norman invaders moved in with their French names. Beauchamp means "beautiful field." Some in my family have researched it and claim our name was Fairfield but at some point was change to Beauchamp maybe to get on the good side of the invading Normans. My Ancestry DNA screen found a strong connection to the UK, Ireland, and western Europe. My maternal ancestors were French. My mother maiden name was Delaneuville.

I’ve just got to hear about this band a few hours ago, they are brilliant, they are top class, they are first class, a hard rocking punk folk band. and they play my most favorite song, What more could you ask for in your life, excellent lyrics, top players all of them. This brings me back to my schoolboy days, it is great to know that brilliant hard rocking great sounding wild music is still been recorded and played live. I’m going to have to get my old dancing shoes out and polished up and get ready go to all this bands gigs when they next come back to my little country, i will follow this band from town to town all over the country until all my money is spent.

After seeing that freckled face showing up in my feed off and on for a couple of years I finally listened. Nice tune. I'm from Cape Breton, Canada, one of the most Scottish places outside of Scotland, and this kind of reminds me of home. Yeah I know the track is Irish/American, but very much like the music from Mabou. Which is a tiny village that has birthed some major talent. Buddy McMaster is/was a great fiddler from the Boomer Generation, who taught both Natalie McMaster, and her cousin Ashley McIsaac (both being related to him). The Rankin Family is also from the area, and someone from them owns a pub in Mabou called "The Red Door". Some world class talent from a tiny village in rural Nova Scotia (New Scotland for those who's Latin is rusty, and who's isn't?).

Black hair and blue eyes is not an easy combination to find as red hair/blue eyes, although I have met and seen a few in Ireland and in my family. They should have looked harder.
