First to use technicolor, but color was seen in others before it. In 1920 the first on color stock (before them there was hand coloring) was released - The Debut of Thomas Cat

@@richardfeilden5494 This was Harriscolor, not Technicolor. The first Technicolor cartoon was a 2 1/2 minute segment from the 1930 film, _The King of Jazz_ . It was produced by Walter Lantz.

Ub was more of a technical innovator and a top-notch animator than anything else-he didn’t have Disney’s creative touch. When the two re-teamed in the late 30’s, the results were superb, and Iwerks earned a couple of well-deserved Oscars.

Bit late, but its likely because the original sound sounded like glass smashing. This is what I always thought as a kid watching this on VHS anyway, so I reckon someone over the years dubbed a more modern sounding splash effect over it.

This is only two strip technicolor. Flowers and Trees was full technicolor. That and Disney just likes to claim to be the first to do everything, the fliescher studios were doing "sound" cartoons since 1926, steamboat willie was just the first sound cartoon by our modern standards of what that is
