This is a great "But that's not all!" video, Jason! 🙂 I really like your starting point of "Same notes, different root" as a way to understand modes - and, as you point out, their different emotive affects. The riffing you do after that makes this video worth revisiting (or deserves a fuller follow-up video on the obverse, "Same root, different notes").

Hello. I'm a total death/blakk metal 🐈‍⬛🖤 head. I have a molested Yamaha SV with oktave strings tuned EADG like a guitar and a Fiddle Fretter adhesive fret lay on the board. I also run it through an EHX PitchFork oktave pedal a perfekt 5th below oktave 50/50 wet and dry. I built a stakk for it too. My question is about bows and bowing. What would be the best bow for death metal? I know I'm totally shattering all possible orthodox regiment. But i have no teacher or koncept of theory. But i wish i understood the dynamik theory of bows. I really like the knarr of my tone. I just wish I understood with a greater grasp, like i do with a guitar and pik etc. Anyways. I don't mean to waste your time. I appreciate your vids and have subskribed. I wish there were more death metal violin KZbinrs who really break things down. Salute from NorKal 530 🤘🪦 🎻 🪦🤘
