Most times remembering how I was amazes me greatly the way I move from an average lifestyle to earning over $25k per week, utter shock is the word, I have understood a lot in the past few years to doubt that opportunities abound in the financial markets, The only thing is to know where to focus

I’ve been watching a lot of your videos on Roth IRAs and index funds, and I really appreciate how clearly you explain everything, it has taken a lot of the anxiety out of finances and investing for me. I have a question - if you’re trying to grow your Roth IRA with index funds, do you reinvest your earnings back into the index funds or do you deposit them into the Roth IRA? I’m a little confused on that because I understand how Roths and index funds work separately, but I’m not sure how they work together. Thank you so much for making these videos!
@DannySully
@DannySully Жыл бұрын
Wow that means so much to me you have no idea. I’m so happy to hear that, thank you! And with index funds in a Roth IRA reinvesting your dividends is optimally to have additional compounding on your investments. If you decide to not reinvest then you will be having cash sit in the account until you take further action. Dividend investing for income is typically for taxable accounts that use it for an income source where a Roth IRA is for max growth since you get the best benefit of all… no taxes on gains!! The function of an index fund is the same whether it is a Roth IRA or a traditional brokerage account. But the difference is your goal. Whether you want an income source from dividends or to see more growth from your investments. I’m not a “financial advisor” lol, but reinvesting is the most logical approach for everything unless you truly want dividend income to use or even live off of. I hope this helps and I’m so happy to hear you are benefiting from my content! :)

Hi!! I am understanding everything pretty well but have one question. When you go to purchase the Fidelty 500 Index Fund it says that it is $130.52. What is this price indicating? I see that you use $100 to invest in it, but how does it work if the index fund costs more than that? Also, with the cash you have "available to trade" that is coming from your Roth IRA, is this because you had that amount in your account, or because this is the interest that you have from that account? Thank you so much for these videos, you're doing God's work.

My next video is going to be a complete tutorial on how to use fidelity. I hope that includes what you are mentioning exactly. If you plan to exchange a lot, etfs may be the better option since you don’t have to wait as long to buy/sell.

Hi, I just transferred more money to the account. How do I buy additional shares of a index fund I already own?
@DannySully
@DannySully Жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm happy to hear that. You can search in the top right of the website platform the specific index fund you want and you can select how much you want to buy. Or you can select the index fund you already own under the positions tab on the platform and select the buy button to fill out how much you want as well. Hope this helps :)

Hey great question! So there are two types of index funds. An index mutual fund or an index etf. It can seem confusing which is why I made a video on it! Hope this helps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYDdkJ9pfLarnrcsi=kkGEW-Vby36tEbUF Thanks for watching my content!

This is a great video! I was wondering if you have a video already explaining how to set up a Roth IRA account and explaining how it works, and how beneficial it is as well. I’ve heard it’s something important when it comes to retirement, but I’m not necessarily sure on the rules that it comes with. Another thing, what’s the difference between Roth IRA and HSA?
@DannySully
@DannySully Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for your kind words! I actually have created a video I believe covers everything you are asking about Roth IRA’s. HSA’s differ from Roth IRA’s and I was actually thinking to make an HSA video as one of my next posts. I will try to work on that for you. Both great resources to take advantage of! Below is the Roth IRA video as well, hope it helps you out :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWeziqh9j51gmsUsi=QV8WR6JvqAqtjkpO

When it says “Reinvest in securities” for that particular index fund under the dividends page, does that mean it will reinvest it into that particular index fund?
@DannySully
@DannySully 4 ай бұрын
Hey great question! That just means that it is reinvesting back into the same security that is mentioned. So SP500 reinvest in security, would mean dividends are being reinvested back into that exact investment, SP 500 fund. Hope this helps, thanks for watching my content!

When do we know when to "sell" it, or do you just always keep the money in the fund? And second question I had was that I just made my account and im trying to do what you are doing at 12:30 with the capital gains and dividends, and nothing is showing up, I don't know if its because my account is new and/or the market is closed.
@DannySully
@DannySully 4 ай бұрын
Hey! Great questions, so you don't ever have to sell until you want to with these funds. It's all under your control. In regards to capital gains and dividends, this may be because your account is new? I have not had this issue, maybe keep checking in on it and see if it comes up. Are you on the computer platform?

Annualized average return has been 10-15% per annum, so being conservative pays really well. Try buying the FXAIX which is a mirror fund of S&P 500 with a much lower expense ratio

What are the age and financial requirements to begin investing with Fidelity? And what to you recommend? Loved the video btw tysm :)
@DannySully
@DannySully 6 ай бұрын
Great question! So you can start with a typical brokerage account at the age of 18. If you are younger than that, you'll have to start a custodial account and have a parent or legal guardian sign off. Roth IRA is 18 but you can earlier as well. And the decision depends on your own situation, and what you have going on! A typical brokerage account is the standard for a regular investing though. Thank you four your kind words, i really appreciate it!

Thank you so much! And no unfortunately it has to be either reinvested in the same security, directly deposited to the core account, or directly to another index mutual fund from Fidelity. If you're curious, you can see this by going to manage dividends on the positions page and scroll into the investments such as FXAIX and look at the opportunities for the distributions and where they can be directed.
