Does the newly produced periodic surface need to project onto the side surface of database?

Generally the assumption would be that geometry constraint is being maintained by the periodic partner from which the copy was made, and that the geometry should also be periodic. So, no, it should not be necessary to project or otherwise also constrain the newly created periodic domain to the database. Hope this helps!
