Thinking of Branching FA, Armor or Quartermaster. Not sure though
@brendan53527 жыл бұрын
Those three branches are all pretty different. Armor is definitely the most Hooah and if you don't go heavy basically requires you to have a Ranger tab to get good jobs and Quartermaster is 99% about dealing with paperwork and property and obviously FA is the best. But in all seriousness you have to decide what kind of job you want and go from there

I still got some time. I just got back from Adv camp/CLC and those were the branch briefs that really caught my attention

Hi Brendan I'm thinking to study Nursing but I'm going to The Army Reserve so that the army can pay my scholarship and then Join now the ROTC. If a don't have a gt score of 110 ¿I can join?
@brendan53527 жыл бұрын
You don't have to take the ASVAB to join ROTC

Currently a college senior thinking of joining the army as an officer! any advice for OCS applicants? Knowing you commissioned through the rotc program did you know anyone that went through OCS?
@Andrew-zh3gk6 жыл бұрын
Well you message was a year ago, but first things first, you can’t join as an officer without a degree, well i should clarify that’s how it was for the Marines when I joined which i’m just now going through OCS but what kind of advice are you looking for ?

They actually let you have cameras at BOLC? That's cool, because I'm thinking about bringing one too. What are the restrictions for recording?

Jakub Rosman I had the same question, seems like opsec would be stricter

Hi so I was going through your videos and realized you did ROTC, does that mean you don't do basic training?
@brendan53527 жыл бұрын
Yes, Officers who commission through ROTC (and West Point) don't do Basic Training
@jacobfouberg52894 жыл бұрын
Not all Officer's who go through ROTC have no military experience. There are many prior enlisted Soldiers who do the 'Green to Gold' program. Also, National Guard and Reserve Cadets have the option to attend Basic Training in lieu of the ROTC equivalent 'Basic Camp'.

Hey, I just found you videos and I've been considering joining the military for a long time now, but I'm still stuck on which branch to join, whether to be enlisted or officer, etc. How did you make those decisions? By the way, your videos are awesome.

Thanks for the compliment. I knew I wanted something combat oriented and didn't want to be on a ship and I'm too tall to fly jets so I was between Army and Marines. Then I found out Marines don't have their own ROTC, its through Navy so I chose to just do Army. Then because I was in college I decided to do Officer. I would start with what you want to do job wise and see what each branch has to offer. In terms of Officer vs Enlisted it really depends on what you want to do because what an Officer does in one branch of one service can be completely different than what an Officer does in another branch of the same service
