Field Gun 1999 Documentary Pt 1

A documentary focusing on the 1999 Field Gun final run at Earls Court, London.
The much loved competition between Portsmouth (pompey) Devonport (oggies) and Fleet Air Arm (wafus) came to an end, and is missed greatly by many who enjoyed this exciting annual tradition.

I've been to the Tattoo in Earls Court as a kid. The Field Gun Crews made it look easy. I didn't realise, at the time, just how tough and dangerous it was. Respect.

my dad ran for Portsmouth (B crew 1989) still amazes how easy they make it, and still makes me sad to know it will never ever happen again in its former glory, even people in my classes thinks its impossible especially when i say my dad did it, a humble cook

I watched this in the audience on my day trip in basic training I left the Royal Artillery after 14 years two days ago its nice to see a trip down memory lane sad to see this has ended

Greatest team sport, ever was the Devonport Doc in 85 and 86, some familiar faces, served with some of them and a Devonport world record Oggie, Oggie, Oggie

Do you know what, another great tradition ended in the name of cuts? I can remember waiting for the results to come through to my ship. Went to Earls court to watch the event when I could, blood & guts performances. Such a shame this was a showcase for the RN
