Trust me when I say once you get used to it you don't really notice the padding and it's better than ball to skin plus I find being a goalie better than fielding soo... But it's all up to you.

Well Field hockey girls are the fittest except for in north america. It aint that popular or competitive in north america compared to rest of the world.
