We take on the role of a mother Lynx trying to raise her babies in a wild world filled with immense beauty and ever-present danger!
Join Seri the Pixel Biologist as we try out the acclaimed game Shelter 2, in which we will be play the life of a stunning mother lynx taking care of her litter of kittens and guiding them as best we can through the hazards of life. We'll hunt for food, protect them from predators, and do our best to navigate through the dangers of nature!
Will we be able to make it out with all our kittens alive or will we learn some harsh lessons about the reality of the struggle of life instead...?!

My theory is a little sadder then most... After Inna's cubs left her to continue their lives as young lynxes, Inna felt a little more tired than usual (that explains why she moved slower and couldn't run at first) She barely managed to survive the winter, in fact by spring she was feeling weaker than ever. She couldn't deny it much longer, the thing that was afflicting her was old age. Stressed, weak, hungry, and alone. Even surviving the months of spring (usually the easiest season to survive) was challenging. And then, one late summers night, Inna awoke to a nostalgic sight. Among the sky were many beautiful constellations, and there, leading her away from her den, was a trail of stars. The same ones that had led her to the safety of her tree many years ago. And she knew, somehow...that following these stars would lead her to safety. Just as it had so long ago... Near the end of the trail, Inna felt so tired and weak... and yet still she knew that she must follow the stars...She was almost about to give up, when she saw something beautiful in the distance. Glowing softly among violet grass danced hundreds of fireflies gleaming in the moonlight... No longer able to run, Inna walked slowly to her destination, knowing in her heart that this was the last time she would ever know the dangers of earth again... And yet...as she neared the field...it felt as though her old pelt was slipping away...making way for the new. And as happiness bloomed in her heart and the strength in her legs returned...she knew... Soon she found that she was running gleefully through the meadow like a young cub fresh out of the den, indeed her paws barely touched the ground as she bounded through the field of fireflies and violet grass... And when she saw him...the lynx that had stolen her heart so long ago...the lynx that had been killed by a wolf before she had even given birth to her cubs or before the stars had led her to the tree...she knew that she had reached the end of her journey... And still they have...and shall forever remain...frolicking happily in the meadows of heaven to this day...

OK my theory about the ending: Inna died that or days later in her den a sleep. the stars were the spirits of her loved ones who led her to the after life, and when inna reach there the father to her kits who died not to long before the birth due to the wolves in the beginning came to join her to help her go and cope with the after life. though this may not be realistic to a real lynx's life, its still a good thing to think about. but what are your theories! I'd love to hear more.

I have 2 theories ... she died and joined her mother or another family member... or she was reunited with her mate... but if you play Shelter 2: Paws you get to see Inna a s a cub so it's more or less the prequel to her story. That might fill in the gap there. But it ends the same with every generation so idk what it means. Like, if all 4 cubs live it wouldn't be a dead sibling ... the CLOSEST bet is mate or mother

Lynx males just get the female pregnant to continue the lynx bloodlines and then leave, not keeping any contact afterwards except for a few accidental run ins. There's an option after you finish with Inna to continue as one of her cubs :0 Go on Google and check out "Shelter 2 Family Tree." Some people have massive trees where they've had so many generations that their lynxes look nothing like Inna did.

my theory is this Inna's mate, Ted barely survived from Luna Moon pack which the evil wolf who killed Sol and chased Luna off became leader while Inna survived and found den. and he went to the snowflakes to kill evil leader and help Luna.(he was strong enough to kill sleeping wolf) that caused Luna and her pack gave up killing Inna. after that.Ted came back for meet Inna -the only female in his territory- to produce new litter.

I love games when it shows the true hardness and how tough an animals has to be to survive and going through sadness of loss when no one cares. hope you have fun with the game.

It'd be so cool if there was a Shelter 3 where you are a fish. You are swimming back to your home to lay your fishy fish eggs. Once you do, you protect them from predators. Once they hatch.. You leave and you choose to play as your oldest baby fish. So then they hatched. And then you, the eldest sibling fish, has to lead your siblings to safety and as they grow up they swim away and you never see them again. Then YOU go back to your home and lay YOUR eggs. Then the game ends x3

Seri I love your videos and you are just so calming to listen to! You should really consider getting the DLC for this game and continuing the family tree! The DLC is tons of fun. The foxes are always exciting and they certainly keep you on your toes. And you always encounter new natural disasters. Personally, I've never gotten the mud slide, but I have gotten countless of wild fires due to lightning and have lost several cubs to the flames

I have two theories for the ending: 1. You meet a new male lynx, allowing you to prepare for a second litter 2. The lynx's pelt seems to vary considering how you play the game, i find the cub you feed the most gives the mysterious lynx their pelt, so I believe its one of your cubs coming back to return the favor and help you survive till old age. That is my favourite out of both my theories

Seri if you get the mountain DLC be ready to have a heart attack I have had shelter 2 for about 5 hours and every time I raised a litter all the pubs survived so I besides to get the DLC I new I had bought the it but I didn't know I had installed it so it was just a normal game I was just hunting some bunnies and then the music change but I didn't care until I giant eagle swooped down and picked up one off my pubs luckily I was able to kill the eagle and save my cub but I did have a bit of a heart attack when it happened

I'm not sure if I ever said this but, I was going to ask if you could at some point do the life as a stray challenge on the sims 3? If you don't know the challenge then it is that you are a stray cat or dog, and I think you can do horses to, but anyway your supposed to try and survive, keep your animal well fed, and try keep your animal as happy as can be, but not ever going back home. At some point your supposed to get a mate and have children, and that makes it harder because you also have to find a way to keep the children alive and happy when they are really small. When the children grow up then you are supposed to at some point have them have children of their own. I like to play as a cat most of the time because they can hunt and I find it interesting to have to hunt all My food! So can you tell Me what you think of doing it? Because when people don't respond then it makes Me wander if they saw the comment, but if you don't respond then thats fine! (:

My theory: Inna watched her lynx Cubs leave, inna suddenly felt weak, her head dipping down, and her legs failing to stand up, a soft glow stretching to her tree, where her Cubs were born, she felt stronger...and got up, she tried to run after her cubs, but her legs were not strong enough, her pelt started to darken as light faded, "They disappeared..?" inna meowed uncomfortably, she lowered her head and ran into her den, She walked into her den and slept, but a trail of stars suddenly appeared, she followed the stars, "Are they leading me to my cubs..?" inna meowed, she kept walking, suddenly she saw a lynx, but she walked forward, fireflies lit the sky, she felt her strength return, she saw her old mate, who died from the wolf attack many years ago. the 2 lynx ran and danced together, Inna's pelt lightened up, she sat down and looked at the stars, she looked behind her at her mate, when she looked at him, his pelt darkened and his head dipped down, his soft blue eyes darkened and his breathing stoped, he started to fade away, head to tail, Inna reached out her paw, only to see misty colored lynx, one white one who was eating a vole, a ginger one who was chasing a rabbit, a Cinnamon one who was running in the forest, and a black one, stalking a snake. "Lynx Cubs?" inna meowed, suddenly, her eyes closed and she fell down and slept, she woke up and the only thing she saw was her tree, then dark fog appeared around her, trapping her in a circle, she felt weak again and fell down, she looked at her mate, who faded back to normal, and he said, "Welcome to Lynx heaven" he meowed, her family appeared, the dark fog fading away, she felt stronger, and she sometimes goes to follow her cubs, even though shes in heaven, she is allowed to go out. I have bad English forgive me please//

Story time reviewing innas life! " When innas mate died, she felt as if nothing would be the same again. She cried the whole way to a river and fell asleep sobbing. Who would ever think that a miracle was coming? After acouple of months, Inna felt like she was feeling heavier. The next day she discovered that she was pregnant! What a surprise! She was happy about the miracle that was happening until, well, the day was here. She was in labor! But Inna was lead to a wolf territory and her scent spread to the wolf packs strong noses. She was extremely weak and could only run, not fight. She found a path and escaped the mighty wolves! The stars saw Inna and knew she needed help. They led her to a wonderful den under a old oak tree. That night, four little Cubs were born. Four! And they were hers! She raised them carefully and was soon left behind. Caring for herself, she found the same trail of stars leading to something else. In a field of flowers and butterflies, was the same, most loving lynx of all, innas mate. She ran towards him, happier than she ever was, and they both went where no one could separate them, heaven. The place for elderly creatures to forget their sad times and to look forward to their new home. Hope you enjoyed! 🐱🐱🐱
