The best use for ledger is checking opponent generals pool and commanding your land powers and fleet. 2nd comes checking up their resources, typically manpower and gold to trade on favourable terms. Another use is finding regions with negative and low income and dismantling buildings that need resource you dont produce.

Giving up potential objectives not held by you will simply reroll them, no losses at all. That's very common diplomatic action.

Thank-you. I run into a situation later about relinquishing an objective to get better relations with a constant foe. I did go ahead and do it with no malus but beneficial results.

Typically if nations dont like you and you dont have good enough Land Power score and other factors I described before it will be hard to not fall in the loop of perpetual wars. Even if very small percent chance triggers due to the sum of all variables they might be very passive and not sent much troops if you are powerful. Here they will be more aggressive cuz dynamic difficulty pushes aggression and bonuses slider harder if you are in the top 10 of Legacy.

You should start to climbing CDR ladder gradually since that one time stored Decadence increase for the conquest begins to evaporate.

Right I notice this fact. Unfortunately or fortunately (we shall see), the current king weaves a lot of chaos to achieve some objectives. The fortune-tellers do say that Surenas the Schemer's actions will lay the foundation for a future king to secure Kolchis position in a positive way in the lands around the Euxine Sea..and the Sea itself.
