The "Diaphragm" for your inflatable mattress is actually designed to avoid you breathing moist air into the mattress. I think you're supposed to wave it around to fill it with air and then use the bellows to inflate the mattress. Breathing into the mattress introduces moisture, which reduces the efficiency of its insulating properties. I think you also risk getting mold as well.
