Our Alde system also recently failed to run on gas, electric ok, turned out that water had entered the flue on the side of van after strong wind and rain, which meant back pressure to the boiler and the boiler wouldn't fire up. The engineer removed the flue pipe, sucked out quite a bit of water from the boiler with a vacuum, left both for a few days to dry, refitted and all has worked well since. He hadn't come across the problem before but having rung Alde for advice they suggested a blocked flue. Hope this helps.Found this on a forum
