Fierce Reflex Bag Review

Review of the Fierce Reflex bag #fiercereflex #cobrabag #Ryangarcia former owner of the everlast, ringside & title cobra bags. The fierce reflex seems to be the best performing if you can get it to stay still. A rubber gym mat under the bags platform may solve this issue. FINALLY, someone who is actually HITTING the bag. So many video reviews on KZbin where they just touch or pitty-pat the Reflex Bag. It would be nice if they had different "size", "strength" "speed" of springs that could be quickly changed out. Some days you feel weak and fast and some days you just want to tear the head off your Reflex Bag.

Nice work my friend please make sure you wrap some tape around the laces to really secure the bag since your hitting pretty hard. This Pro Elite bag is meant to be bolted down. Good job!

Thanks coach Henry Garcia I have since removed the bag, used loctite on the bolt holding down the plastic adapter, reinstalled the bag with tape and it feels even faster now, more secure.

Jose De Regla do you use the sand bag in combination with the weights? I placed two 25lb kettlebells on top of the sand bag, and it still rocked enough for both of them to fall off within 1 round.

I just checked it out. It does look real nice. I like the plastic base, seems to hold more sand and prevent the entire bag from wobbling around without adding expensive weights. I also like the Allen key bolt which holds the bag itself from backing out. For the Fierce Reflex Bag my two biggest complaints are the sand bag (poor quality, both straps ripped and the Velcro leaks sand without ugly duct tape), & the punching bag mount itself tends to loosen. This requires deflating the bag, removing it, removing the bolt holding it to the pole/spring, adding Loctite (I have to do this once per month) and then reinstalling it all over again. It is kind of annoying. I definitely don’t punch as hard as Canelo......so I’m sure their fight gym has to perform the same maintenance on these bags more frequently than I do.

They are expensive, but I don’t think that I could make anything nearly comparable for $40. If you’re a fabricator, you could maybe make one for $100-$150. Fierce a reflex does have the Garcia name behind it and Canelo using it probably sky rockets their sales

Yes it has been very durable. The only exceptions are the expected Maintenence; popped the air bladder once and replaced with an Amazon speed bag bladder. The leather sand bag is all duct taped together now, which is not exciting considering the price of the bag. BUT, the functionality is great.

Jesus you could just build this with duck tape and a suspension spring. All these parts are found at a local hardware store easy and actually probably higher quality. Canelo and Ryan both use DIY reflex bags. Just stick a speed bag on a suspension rod and duct tape to a weighted stand. Dont spend 500 on this lol.

Michael Jung It is expensive and a rather simple design. But I wouldn’t trust duct tape to hold everything together. Also, Ryan Garcia’s dad designed and makes these (I’m sure as production he has fabricators make them). But these are the same bags that Ryan Garcia and Canelo use in their professional gym. They have been using these bags since before they became available to the public.

From the looks of the website, the amateur bag has a slightly shorter spring. I think that will react just as fast but the bag will be less likely to hit you since it will not reach as far. But I could be wrong

SHADOW The first On IG if you follow Procoachhenry (Ryan Garcia’s dad) he posts updates all the time. A few times he mentioned the “amateur version” of the bag would be a bit cheaper. He did not mention the price. I am not affiliated with Fierce Reflex at all so I cannot accurately answer some of these questions. Edit, he also made a Instagram page specifically for the bag.

Can you measure the minimum height setting? Fierce Reflex doesn't give the minimum or maximum heights on their website.

S Bath the minimum height is about 60.5” from the floor to the top of the punching bag. I have it set to about 64” tall and I am 5’11” tall. For reference, that places the punching bag at the bottom of my chin while standing straight.

Do you think this thing would work in an apt or would it bother my neighbors below me? What about sliding it across vinyl Flooring into a corner when not in use? Would that be practical? Btw, i seen someone put a weight bench weight over the sandbag for extra stability, have you tried that?

Divine I think that it would be pretty loud for an apartment. Having a 45lb plate on top of the sand bag would definitely help in a few ways, but the punching sounds would still be loud. I want to add a 45lb plate to mine, but I am having a hard time finding any in stock. It appears that covid has increased weight purchases, all stores seem to be out of stock and people selling on Craigslist or OfferUp know this, so they are asking for a lot of money. Considering the cost of the bag, it does suck that I have to spend an easy $100 more for one 45lb plate to keep it from moving around. If you must slide it across vinyl flooring, I recommend sliding it on top of some sort of rug to prevent scratching the floor. I do slide it on my garage floor epoxy, but I’m not too worried about scratching that surface.

Divine nope! My wobbles around with 100+ lbs of sand, 2 15lb kettlebells on it & on top of a rug. I even put it on a foam gym flooring square and it’s more quiet but still wobbles. I feel like it needs the sand bag + at least one 45lb Olympic plate. At least for us that don’t have the luxury of bolting it down that is
