Fiesta Island San Diego Fishing

Fishing after work with my wife is awesome .I met some new friends and they gave some Ghost Shrimps for bait .I caught 2 nice Sargo,Butterfly Ray and a couple of Smelts for bait.
Fiesta Island Youth Camp and the Aquatic Center are on the island. There are bonfire rings around the shore of the island and dogs are allowed off leash.

There is a 5 m.p.h. zone on the east side of the island that is popular for recreational water sports. There is also a permitted water ski area in Hidden Cove and permits for water skiing only are available from the Lifeguards at their headquarters, 2581 Quivera Court.Also popular for fishing.

Great video. I have been surf fishing on beaches but have thinking of the calmer waters. Fiesta island is closer to me too. Great rigging also, you did that fast!

Nice video! I need to fish fiesta island. I like you can park and fish by your vehicle. So how did you rig up? Was your sinker on the bottom or top of your hook?

I use both top and bottom sinkers.Size 2 hooks ,10 or 12 lb. test line and Ghost Shrimps for bait .

Thanks for your vids kuya. I caught my first surf fising fish this last weekend. Where on Fiesta Island is it safe to fish, away from jet ski's etc. Also, can ghost shrimp be found on fiesta island? Thanks

Congrats on your first surf fish.I fish on lots of spots there on my Video and always safe there.Just do not cast very far when there are lots of jet Skiers.I catch many fish there close to the shorelines. No Ghost Shrimps there.I usually but them at Seafort Sportsfishing. Squidco sells them too.
