I fell in love with Candy Apple Red because of Gilmour in the 80's, and I recently ordered a daphne blue (really love that colour)

May I ask what string gauge you use? Im used to playing custom made strings for extremely low drop tunings for metal stuff, but ive recently started playing some blues stuff on a real nice Jazzmaster I got a hold of. I have 10 - 46s on it atm but I feel theyre a little too bright for the bluesy stuff I wanna do.

Ford started using Fiesta Red in 1956. It was a DuPont color. Leo Fender offered it in 1959 with his custom color offerings. The myth that these automotive paints let the wood breathe is not true. The old DuPont paint had lead in it and was made for automobiles to protect the metal from the elements.

Fiesta red might be one of the best Strat colours, but I, personaly, think that I would never buy one just because everybody has or had strats in fiesta red, or in some close colours to fiesta red: most Knopfler's strats, Gary Moore number one strat, SRV's red strat, Gilmour has one fiesta red strat, most Hank Marvins strats, Mike Oldfield had one.....even Phil Guy (Buddy Guy's younger brother) had one
