The reason you are not really going up against the better squads is because you have a bronze bench, that brings your rating waayyyy down and then they dont pair you up with as crazy of teams on onlline friendly seasons.

RYSE handicap is the thing EA does to balance teams. If you have the better team, your players will miss tackles, play sluggishly, and miss easy chances. That's why people win D1 with silver teams or cheap squads.
