We compare the graphics of FIFA 18 on last-gen PS3, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The FIFA 18 on last-gen is called legacy edition: A ‘Legacy Edition’ of EA SPORTS FIFA consists of kit and squad updates to reflect the latest changes in the world of football. Legacy Editions do not include any new gameplay features or innovations. The Nintendo Switch version is based on last gen, but obviously quite polished with sharp textures and additional graphics effects. It runs with native 1080p and 60 fps and looks nice taken into consideration that it is a portable device.

+João Jr Oh that only depends on the versions I get. Sometimes it is Xbox 360, but mostly it is PS3. It is not usual that publishers send press review versions of last-gen. I don't favor any console but honestly: a PS3 vs. PS4 comparison is in most of the cases the same as Xbox 360 vs. Xbox One.

As much as I would like to see Frostbite on the Switch, it would have definitely hit the framerates... And for a sports game, 60 fps is a must. So I think it's a fair tradeoff... Besides, it looks pretty decent for a portable too...

Because there's still some people with only ps3s or x360s and it's not that difficult to make a sports game still run on older generation hardware, it's mostly though for the people who only buy FIFA or PES each year and nothing else ever. It also helps for countries like Brasil where people often have last generation consoles for a long time still. FIFA games kept coming out on ps2 all the way up to FIFA 15 or 16 even, since there was a very large demographic in such as Brasil again, where kids and their parents could simply never afford a ps3 or 360.

The Wolf As a PC/PS4 fan the PS3 has better textures than the switch version for 720p. I have the switch and seeing this video I can really tell switch's 1080p is not that powerful.
