Definitely hasn’t been the rule for ‘years’ as Andy claims. Can distinctively remember a SBSD on FB Pope with Bateson where Andy successfully guessed Batesons Eusebio, then he put Lampard in the next round (and Andy even guessed Gerrard). Bateson even asked in that episode if he could attempt to bring another icon into his squad, and Andy said ‘Yes.’

@@AJ3 Perhaps then u just didn’t explain it clearly enough to us when u did change the rule, and that’s why everyone thought u were scamming James. Maybe in the future if u guess ur opponents icon/hero, u give them an icon/hero GK so they at least get the links they would’ve had anyway. Coz often people use icons/heroes in SBSD to link their team together, and so removing it makes it impossible to build the rest of the team without it being incredibly obvious.

I've watched every single Squad Builder Showdown and u haven't adressed that if icons (or the new hero cards) are guessed u simply can't put in another and you could simply just put in another icons for years. But that being said, I do agree with you. If you somehow outsmart the other person and guess their icon/hero you should be rewarded for that, therefore the other person losses their icon/hero spot due to it being guessed

I agree with the rule that if it is guessed you can’t put another one in, but the idea that you have always enforced it for yourself and for your opponents is not true. There have been instances in the past where both you and your opponents have not followed it.

I think what is being missed is that usually the icon would be replaced with an Icon Goalie (Cech, Van Der Sar etc.). Since it was an icon goalie replacing the guessed icon, it was obvious that another icon isn't allowed. In the James video, the replacement was a regular player which led to the problem

The RM was a Flashback or some special card. In that Beckham was a REAL MADRID player. The CM was the actual icon :D

I can't remember which SBSD it was either, but I remember his icon Beckham got guessed and then he used the Real Madrid Beckham. Not sure if that's different. I still think you're not able to use an icon after one has been guessed.

The formation is very good if your opponent hoardes possession. I used it alot in 20 and 21. But you need super high depth and ideally constant pressure.
