This was incredibly good with a 3D graphics card, more so than the versions in future years. The unfortunate thing is that this rekindles memories of when Man Utd were at their peak winning the treble. As a Liverpool fan I'd rather not relive that.

This is still my all time favourite FIFA game....even bought 3dfx card for run with better quality....and the commentators were great....loved Gary Lineker from the studio giving the micro to John Motson & Mark Lawrenson...and they knew the name of the goalkeepers (Schmeichel, Taffarel, Barthez) unlike lately....no any keeper names mentioned 😕😕😕...loved hearing from them GREAT SAVE FROM TAFFAREL

This brings me back. Fifa 99 and World Cup 98 were my first football games to own. I remember even still playing a lot of fifa 99, when fifa 2000 came out. I just never felt satisfied with fifa 2000, that I always went back to playing fifa 99, right up to until when fifa 2001 came out. Great game for its time.

If you haven't noticed, they make the Ref look like the away Goal Keeper, by default every game.

The game that made me partially lose my eyesight. When i was a kid i didn't know there was an option to save, so once i started a tournament i had to go through it all in one run, no matter how late at night it was, and couldn't use any light since my mom was watching tv in the same room. The pc monitor did the rest. How stupid...

Easily my favourite ever FIFA game, I was 13 when I got this for Christmans and played the hell out of it. Inter Milan were my favourite team, with G Silva (Ronaldo), Roberto Baggio, Javier Zanetti, Youri Djorkaeff, et al

Man this game was literally pathetic at best... After a few weeks playing it there was no way in hell the cpu, at top difficulty, could score a goal against me. I remember winning most games with a MINIMUM score of about 8-0 (top difficulty); most of the goals were bicycle kicks or solo runs. The only challenge was picking the shittiest team, but even then it was hard not to outperform the cpu every single time.

@@nskdnnm world class in this game was far more punishing than any other fifa that was released. Even today fifa 20 is a complete fucking joke even on the highest difficulties. Furthermore back in those days football games were actually football games and not casino simulators.

I remember the morning of December 25, 2000, here in Mexico things were still a little late with respect to the USA, then I enjoyed the PS1 until 2000, I just remember that cold morning, in a huge box was my PS1 with a mountain of video games and among them this fifa, it brings me many memories of those mornings and moments that will never return.

I know I'm really late in discovering this video, but I've just recently installed the game to my own PC. I have to ask; how the hell did you get a controller to work on this? It's just not working for me. I don't even know where to go to get the game to recognise the gamepad. I feel really dumb here. I know this game is gamepad compatible (noted by the icon on the side select screen).

USB N64 controllers are better because I have had the issue of pausing when the player movement button is pressed with other controllers whereby the analog stick does not. I can also use the directional pad.
