That only matters in the beginning (in the end everybody can have all the icons even without any money invested, just time). And it only matters to people that are actually good enough to even get close to elite 1/top 100. I agree, from where you are verified and start competing for events (even qualifications online) everybody should have the same players. For the average gold 2 scrub it doesnt matter and fut is just a fantastic gamemode.
