what a shame that Ribéry got injured before that world cup, he could have helped us to go further in the competition, he was definitely our best player during the qualification stage. At least it helped Griezmann to quickly reach the top. I think France have bags of potential in this World Cup. A lot of their players are in a good place with their clubs right now, and you would expect them to win their group on paper. Football is never played on paper though, so you never know. I must admit the fact that Clichy and Nasri in particular have been left out of the squad is slightly puzzling, but I do believe they have a good enough squad to mount a serious challenge if they pull in the same direction.

As a Netherlands fan I was rooting for France to beat Germany in the quarter finals. Too bad it didn't happen. France is still one of the best teams in the world and their performance in the 2014 World Cup should see them move up the rankings.

Because Deschamps is an outstanding coach (what he's done with monaco in champions league, with juventus or marseille..).. because they have the second best attack just behind argentina (14,6 goals on average this season), because the game vs Ukraine, to qualify after a 2-0 loss...and in a difficult group with spain with one loss. Because they were very good vs Spain & Holland..

The attacking trio will most likely be Ribery-Benzema-Valbuena, as it has been lately whenever Deschamps could lay out his first choice. ...As for Nasri's inclusion in the video despite his non-inclusion in Deschamps' list, let's just call it an unlucky timing.

Brice Bruce Indeed Ribery's injury now makes it likely to happen. It worked well against Jamaica but I don't like the idea of narrowing offensive options by starting with both strikers... I'd personally favor putting Griezmann on the left flank and Benzema at the top, while leaving Giroud on the bench.
