Olivier GIROUD GOAL | FIFA PUSKAS AWARD 2017 WINNER

France forward Olivier Giroud scored with a scorpion kick to finish off a swift Arsenal counter attack. Alexis Sanchez curled in a cross from outside the penalty area on the left wing for Giroud, whose audacious, acrobatic effort hit off the crossbar before bulging the inside of Wayne Hennessey’s net.

Incredible goal. The flick to keep the move going in the transition is top class, he busts an absolute gut to get there, from one end of the pitch to the other, points to where he wants it, readjusts when the delivery is behind him, and somehow contorts to smash it in of the underside of the bar. A truly brilliant goal. He's said himself it was a "freak" goal, but he's being humble. To me, he meant to do what he did, they just don't always come off. Very happy that it's at least been nominated. Well played, Olivier.

Aykut I know where u are coming from, but I feel like Arsenal CAN play great football but Wenger holds them to side ways football. If u don't believe me watch any Thierry Henry breakdowns on Arsenal playing this season. With lacazette they have a striker who is quick and agile enough to play a through ball to him unlike giroud who is more of a poacher and is good in the air and can bust out amazing moves like this Scorpion kick and the bicycle kick agains crvenda today. Anyways xhaka and Ozil need to have freedom and be able to play those long through balls as that's how lacazette plays. But yeah I agree with u before lacazette Arsenal have the ability to play beautiful football but don't seem to pull it off very often but when they do it's something special.

Ridiculously and shameful enough, British Sport Writer don't even think it's good enough to win Goal of the month and now people (without prejudice) that knows the game real well awarded it Goal of the Year.
