3:09 has a loud backing track but their voices underneath it was great. Check out the mic feed from Rhaul. Lauren's part in WFH sounding pitchy and weak because she was actually very sick that day together with Normani and Dinah #DC3😂. Since their new era, they haven't used backtrack(or atleast a very loud one e.g, Worth it live) unless it's a tv show which makes me and Harmonizers really proud😘

It's playback in the 2015/16 videos but now in everything they sing live. They are only human and need a vocal rest some days so I can't blame them for playback use. I love em either way because I know they have the most beautiful voices in the galaxy

For the first one all artists use a playback for the chorus part of the song . Like they’ll sing the verses live and stuff but a a little extra boost is always used during the chorus for every artist if u pay attention to other artists performing you’ll notice that

in the "he like that" live version, The chorus part was obviously lip synched, but here's another thing some people didn't notice. The chorus part was not only lip synced, but the audio was also the hidden vocals of the song and the "he trip when he on it, one taste and he want it" part was sang by dinah instead of normani. Also, good video.

Backtrack isn't lip syncing. Anyway, Lauren sings with it which you can hear clearly if you listen for it. She usually doesn't sound that bad either (from that vid you showed). I think it was just a bad day. From mic feeds, her voice is pretty full and unbreathy.
