Nice pens. When you had the 6 laid out, I couldn't help thinking, well that's what $900-worth of ballpoint pens looks like. Then you brought out 4-5 more. Dang, I'm jealous of your pen budget! I should have worked through to 65 instead of retiring early...

What an amazing coincidence that you’d post this the very day I finished my first playthrough of Deus Ex: Human Revolution! Talk about great cyberpunk-themed games! I did a double take when I saw the thumbnail LOL. If there was a fountain pen version of this pen I’d get it straight away. It looks very sleek and both theme and colour scheme are right up my alley.

David. I just wanted to say thank you for all your work this year. While I'm sure it is a labor of love, it is nonetheless "labor." So thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. God bless.

I knew there was a community that makes pens on a wood lathe. Didn't know there was a community of people who reviewed pens. Today I surprised myself.

Everybody needs at least one nice looking and very well performing rollerball pen. Well, maybe not everybody. These are great looking pens and perform very well in the writing test. Thanks for the review, David! 👍

Try shopping for a Retro 51. They are great looking and perform very well. They cost 1/3 what these Tactile pens do. I don't have any Tactile pens, so I am not sure they are worth three times what my Retro pens do. I'm only suggesting you look and see for yourself. Happy holidays!

i find the side click tends to depend on orientation. if the button is pointed up then the button pops up a bit. if upside down the button sticks out further. I've had two side cick pens (both returned) that had this issue. i also have problems with the click assembly getting locked in place if the alignment is a bit off. basically it gets jammed in the sleeve. perhaps this is only something that affects my pens. well, affected. i don't have them anymore.

If you want to look into a nice fusion between PC gaming and something a little more console-ish, take a look at the Steam Deck. On the surface it's a nice handheld console, but underneath it's basically PC guts running a version of Linux that can flip between "gaming mode" (all Steam, all the time) and "desktop mode", which actually gives you a normal and usable desktop. It nice because it's not all crazy locked down like most gaming devices, so it allows for game modding, if you're into that sort of thing. Game compatibility can be a little hit or miss on the default setup, but I believe they've worked out the kinks (or are in the process of doing so) to allow you to install Windows on it it and have native access to a wider array of games.

I'm personally a keeb enthusiast, so I'm not unfamiliar with paying higher prices for niche hobbies that have utility, but I'm having a hard time justifying purchasing a pen for $149 dollars. Is it really worth the price? Would appreciate a better understanding of the rationale of purchasing a pen of this price range, versus a typical pen. For example, will your hands be less tired when writing, better ergonomics? Etc.

6:40 This is most certainly not a real pattern of PCB traces. It would be an insane design if it were. You can see many unnecessary odd shapes and bends that would never be seen on professionally designed PCBs. I reckon it's just a generic artistic interpretation often seen in sci-fi media.
@Dosbomber2 жыл бұрын
To an EE or someone with actual PCB layout experience, it's laughable cringe. But it's a nice aesthetic for those who won't look too closely. I especially liked (and laughed at) the two parallel traces coming off one pad, and all the round pads without through-holes.

These guys used to make fountain pens, and then abandoned them. They have become a one trick company selling the same pen with different paint jobs.

David, don't EVER use the term "master race" no matter the context. I am sincerely hoping you did not mean to evoke a hate term, and it would be wise to walk that back.

It's from genuine, although probably ill-considered, tongue-in-cheek joke name for PC gamers. It's about their 'superiority' over console gamers.

It’s a self deprecating joke about how snobby PC gamers can sometimes be. It’s a joke that’s been around forever and is not a hate term. Context is very important.

No-one cares about your transparent virtue signalling anymore. Even the people who couldn't see through it have now grown tired of it. We all just want to get along instead of being controlled by grifters who want to keep us fighting amongst ourselves so they can keep stealing from us while we're distracted.

i just wish they would have made the push button purple just to keep things consistent, it feels like they had a bunch of grey push buttons hanging around so they just decided to stick it on this pen so they didn't have to waste them, it seems very lazy and uninspired to me
