Chinese historians also confirmed that we are Proto-Qiangnic people. It was Han Dynasty who drove us here i.e present day Indo Burma areas and surrounding. If we go by the logic of our Zeliang brothers then we should go back to Yangtze river basins where we originated. Migration was normal thing back then without any ill intention to dominate others. There was no money & land was little or no value at all, no districts, no states etc. People migrated to one place and move to another in search of good soil to cultivate and feed people. Unfounded accusation of land grabbing and encroaching Zeliang ancestral lands is a misinformed and largely using by people with ulterior motives to fuel this crisis. Remember 1939 was long time ago, back then there was no Nagaland, no smaller Districts, no nothing even India was not clearly demarcated. It was this time my ancestors migrated everywhere, and many villages (like Kiyevi village) were established after acquiring PERMIT from British Empire, till date such documents are in the hands of concerned village GBs which can be use as proof in the courts. Migration of villages from one place to another was normal phenomenon back then, experts in such field will give clearer picture of how and why it happened. Before Phek, I don't know where Sümi came from, some sources says Burma to Makel, Manipur and then migrated towards Phek and stayed there for some hundred years and then moved upwards ie present day Pughoboto, Zunheboto and there again our people moved towards Western & Eastern side of Present day Nagaland. We have villages in Kiphire Districts, Phek District there is one village called 'Sumi Village' which predates Pughoboto & Zunheboto, I heard there is one in Mon, there are many in Mokokchung Dist (Northern Sumi), Dimapur, Niuland & Chümou Districts (Western Sümi) , District, even up Assam District. Anyone getting the picture? It was not done with the intention to grab lands and dominate others but it was done so to cultivate and feed people, nothing more. We can't undo the established villages no matter who or what authority tells us to. So, I urged the present government to take the final and binding decision and demarcate the lands and put proper fence /wall and put strict laws in place and punish the defaulters, that way we can solve this problem.

I think the government should intervene in this situation..and not only this but all the dispute between different village and district..what the government should follow is step one..they should first asked both the parties to bring their proven identify that the land that they are fighting over its theirs.. Step 2...if they couldn't able to find any outstanding evidence then the government should asked both the parties to settle the disbute to come to a compromised..and divided the land both equally Step 3..if bothe the parties are not willing then the government should intervene by suggesting both the party to come to a deal where the Nagaland government should compensate 50 percent of the money and somehow owned the land in semi government where they should compromise with the state forest department to which the government should take care of that land by planting tree and with time the profit they earned should be equally divided between the party..where government will take their share and both the party as well..
