Sean is like 16-4 in the UFC, and (over a dozen straight wins prior to that). That in itself is very impressive. There's only like 2 dozen fighters with that many wins...and people are acting like he came out of nowhere and simply got lucky. Sean has precision and stamina, very well rounded. Dricus has power and angles, great athlete. Sean has to be careful not to fall into that possum trap Dricus has with his stamina. He'll be tired and sloppy but still swing away. Lots of big guys get tired and they give up, be he doesn't. Sean will likely keep Dricus off of him most of the fight..he's great at it, but this will likely go to the ground. Sean has great wrestling and ground game but will Dricus be able to ragdoll him like Robert? Dricus knows he shouldn't swing with the guy who defeated Izzy with his hands and pressured him the entire 5 rounds without breaking a sweat..so to speak.

DDP is better at fighting on the ground. Strickland fights too upright, and the Philly shell defence he uses won't work against Dricus. This is not boxing. Dricus will probably continuously go under the Philly shell, take Stickland to the ground and smash him up there. DDP has superior wrestling and Judo skills, and he's not afraid to use his head and his elbows on the ground. Strickland is going to get badly hurt if he thinks this is going to be another boxing match.

It's an interesting dilemma Dricus has. Sean's mythical cardio relies on the way he fights. Not too much grappling (and his TD defence is very good, so minimal grappling, zero offensive grapplin), not having to move back, much, certainly no running, certainly not messy clinches. Him walking forward buys him a lot of rest time as his opponents work out what to do with the guy who keeps walking forward. Grappling, especially when you are the aggressor, exhausts you. Sometimes you can make the defender exhausted with you. Sean has never grappled with someone as relentless as Dricus, not for years, where he is hurting you as he goes for subs. He doesn't use grappling as a resting mechanism. So. If Dricus goes hard with the grappling, which I think he will cause damage and loss of equilibrium for Sean, but it will eat up stamina. Everyone then says, he's gassed out, look at Sean's amazing cardio. If Sean attempts to be the offensive grappler... he risks using up the same stamina. Which he isn't used to. The key, if Dricus does a lot of grappling (if he doesn't get a sub within 2 rounds), is to make sure Sean is getting exhausted by it and isn't resting.

One of the reasons I like Robert Whitaker is that he never disrespects his opponents or tries to humiliate others.
