Inoue doesn't need to fight Davis. The dude is a four division champ, he'd have to move up another two divisions to even make it reasonable to fight Davis. People who are saying that the two need to fight are mostly Inoue haters wanting him to take a fight that's truly above his physical size just so they can see him lose. When Inoue fought at 115lbs people said he needed to move up to 118lbs and he'd be exposed as a hype train. He destroyed the entire division, moved up to 122lbs, knocked out a guy who people said he had no chance against, and is now looking to win two more belts. Everyone is just gonna keep saying he needs to get heavier. If in some crazy turn of events Inoue fought Davis at 130lbs and won they'd be saying he needs to move up another weight class and be exposed.

thats just how it is. but you can't necessarily blame the fans or inoue because inoue is the only big name in the lower divisions. all the big names are moving up in weigh so the likelyhood of inoue even fighting someone like tank by the time hes able to get to 130lbs or higher they might already be at 147

Hes already got 2 arguably 3 hall of fame wins on his resume, 2x from Nonito Donaire all time great/HOFer, 1 from omar narvaez...omar narvaez isnt in the HOF yet but he was on the voter's ballot to get into the HOF So already at 30yr old hes got 3 HOF wins under his resume, hes a 4 weight champion, one of those weights he collected all the titles and went undisputed. So that already puts him up there. Fulton got the decision over Figueroa he was a undefeated 2 belt unified champion, Inoue did not take a tune up, he did not take a mandatory, he dropped all the belts he jumped up went right to the head of the snake and chopped Fulton up. He beat the consensus number 1 dude in that weight class in his 1st fight in that weight class. That's unprecedented shit. Then you got Manny Rodriquez and Maloney, at the time Inoue fought both they were both at the top 5 at bantamweight. Those wins age well because both went on to win another belt after Inoue defeated them. As far as modern boxing goes If Inoue wins undisputed at bantamweight last year and wins undisputed again in another weight class this year that's about as good as your gonna get as far as greatness goes in This Era. Winning all 4 titles undisputed in 2 diff weight class in back-to-back years thats about as good as your gonna get in this era of boxing. Tapales is a good fighter but Inoue is gonna destroy him. If Inoue moves up to 126 and wins at least 1 title thats gonna put him in a very prestige category of guys who have won titles in 5 diff weight classes, he’d be in a category with Tommy Hearns, Suger Ray Leonard, Oscar De la hoya, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather. For a guy that won a title in 5 different weight divisions. Thats all time great status idc what anyone says. thats about as good as your gonna get as far as greatness goes.

From a native Japanese speaker's point of view, Naoya's answer was within the expected range. He probably concentrates only on the game at hand. He may have an idea of what he wants to be like in the future, but he does not talk about "picture cakes" as if they were written on a piece of paper. In the Japanese way, he probably thinks of it not as modesty, but as a warning (i.e., a curse) to himself for his arrogance that leads to defeat. In addition, Naoya's matches are always exciting, but his stories have always been uninteresting. He is an extreme realist. As for him, let's watch the matches rather than listen to him. It's 100 times more interesting.

I have a simple question, why is he suspected of doping by some boxing fans? He's been tested a lot and every time he's tested negative. He's always been an honest athlete who respects boxing. I would be happier to genuinely enjoy his fights than to get excited about something that has no proof.

You know, his answer to the question of if the goal is to KO Tapales tells you a lot about his level of intelligence and poise as a fighter. You never really hear him say “the goal is a knockout”. Naoya always basically says it the opportunity arises he will take the KO but is dependent on the flow of the fight. He’s a fighter that takes what the each fight gives him. It’s very wise frame of mind because the “always looking for a KO” guy can mentally corner himself into headhunting if he runs into a guy he can’t land clean enough with or he might start to panic or make mistakes. Naoya’s approach it “I’ll take what the fight gives me” and his goal being simply to win is very calm, collected way of approaching his fights. He just so happens to be an absolute killer and finds opportunities to murder his opponents 😂. It’s good to hear that he puts no pressure on himself to find the KO every fight.

Too many fans are trying to hype up the monster vs tank davis matchup because they want to see Inoue fail and lose. But these fans need to remember that Gervonta gave his flowers to Inoue admitting that the monster is one of his favorite fighters. But Davis also admitted that it would be too much for him to move down weight to fight Inoue. In this interview, you see the same respect and love that Inoue is showing back to Gervonta. You could also find it funny when Inoue heard the question if they could ever fight in the future with his chuckle. These two fighters i actually have more respect than the top dogs like Crawford and Haney. Unlike the later two, Inoue and Gervonta puts on a show and goes toe to toe against the best in their division. Gervonta can't fight Haney or Shakur if they ducking.
