People should really listen to him about the career path of a fighter. This is what a management team does. The idea is for Vergil to become World Champion. Fighting Brook does little if anything to move him closer toward that goal. They have a direct path on “we beat X, then that could set up a fight with Y, which would make us mandatory to Z.” Z is the big factor, they know Spence or Crawford are extremely difficult opponents and often (to be candid) fighters will wait it out until someone relinquishes, thus making them eligible to fight for the vacant belt. This is the “business” side of thing. Fighting Crawford, Spence, (and especially Boots) is career suicide with respect to their current path..and trust me this is the same as virtually every current/former champion. It’s just how boxing go.

I would've had a problem with Virgil Ortiz if he had left Roberto Garcia for many Robles if had not had Virgil Ortiz sr in his corner. Because in my opinion Roberto Garcia is a better trainer than Robles. Not that I think Manny Robles is a bad trainer, he's also an excellent trainer. I love the way Manny Robles trains his fighter to hit hard where Robert Garcia has a better technical style. But like Virgil Ortiz said he's number 1 in his son's corner and he's damn good trainer himself. So I expect Virgil Ortiz to have continue success until he fights Crawford. I think Crawford style will be very challenging for Virgil Jr. Same goes for Spence. I think Virgil has a flood chance against ugas but not without giving ugas his props too. Ugas can also definitely beat Ortiz especially after his big win against Manny Pacquiao.
