I enjoy how Sheridan has a diverse cast of characters, but few are simply there to check a box. Each one brings surprises and a back story that enhances the bigger story. Having a 20 year old woman toss some shade towards Manfredi on leadership in other places, e.g., Disney, would be straight up stupid. Here it makes sense and gives Manfredi a chance to show that he knows the burden. Her hurt, as with almost every person in the cast, comes from family loss. Somehow Sheridan found a way to make every character, even the guard at the weed shop, a person that does things a certain way that holds true. I also like how the plot revolves around Manfredi, but he is not the only driver for action (unlike Jack Lord in original 5-0). People do things and he reacts, still staying in a cohesive plot. Unfortunately that is so rare in what passes for episodic work these days.

I can’t believe it took me until episode 8 to realize Max Casella plays Armand. I knew I recognized him but couldn’t place it because of that mustache. How could I miss the man who played Benny Fazio from the Sopranos for years!?! lol A couple episodes were kind of slow but I can’t it’s really heated up and I can’t wait until Sunday for the finale. Keep up the great reviews Michael, love hearing how the show compares to the real thing and also how you analyze it separate from true life. Keep em’ coming

When I saw Domenick walking down the steps last week without that toupee on I thought to myself “ok now they’ve really got something” he carries a presence on screen that is second to none compared to most actors nowadays. I’ve always liked Stallone, but seeing that Domenick was cast in this series is what really had me interested in this show, and now I feel like we actually have him. The same goes for Vincent Piazza and I really hope we get to see him channel some of that Lucky Luciano aura he carried in Boardwalk Empire too. Outside of Asante in Gotti and DiNero and Pesci in Goodfellas and Casino that is my favorite portrayal of a real life mobster on screen. Him and the actor that plays Meyer Lansky were absolutely phenomenal. So was Stephen Graham as Capone. Something about Piazza was on another level though in that series though

Happy New Year Mr Franzese. This show keeps getting better. It's not that realistic, but it isn't pretending to be a documentary, as you say "dramatic liberty." And watching Stallone's performance is a real joy, the man dominates every scene with his huge presence. I predict Dwight will break ties with the "family" back East and confim his Tulsa crew as his very own family - La Cosa Tulsa ! Anyway, saw ep 8 yesterday and very excited about the finale next week - and of course your review ! Hope the New Year has started well for you and your family, God Bless.

Michael, I have been watching your videos for a while and watching the absolute change Christ has done in you brings me to tears. I had a fascination for Mafia related subjects, not because of the crime or business aspect of how they are ran, but for loyalty. I am just a firm believer in loyalty. I have since brought that same belief to Christ. I am 20 years in the ministry and still get teary eyed when I see/hear/read about someone who turned their life over. That said...I am loving this series ( and the show itself) and loving your personal reflection on it. I love what your doing and bringing things to light for people. Some have made comments about things they know nothing about and it shows, your response to them is very respectable and I appreciate how you handle it. I hope you dont tire of sharing your personal experiences and struggles while reviewing mob related movies/show...bc it adds so much for them. I appreciate you and praying over you! Please upload the last two episodes soon..I am really looking forward to hearing more from you :) God Bless

Mike, if I may make a suggestion , because I really do like your reviews of this show. I think you may want to start organizing and narrowing down your reviews more. What I mean is you’re coherent in all of your observations and narrating but miss somethings and seem to be free wheeling it a bit. An example I’d use is when you discussed them killing the Biker who came over to shoot up the bar as a message, that afterward Dwight had the Bikers Cut/ Vest sent back to his Gang, and Mitch asks him if he should put a fish in it. The inside jokes a references kind of highlighting Dwight’s position as his own man but still with a Mob background known by all. Next, when Goodie came out there and saw Armand their exchange told us a lot about their history and what happened twenty years ago, most critically how Armand bailed when the infighting in the family was picking up but Goodie stayed and was Made (“Got his button”). This is a key insight into the supporting character backgrounds and mindsets.

Hi Michael! Happy new year! I think the most sensible character is Gracie. She rightfully asked Dwight to act as a proper leader. Stacey is unbelievably annoying; she is rude, tacky, self-serving and corrupt. I like that other characters are being developed and we better understand Dwight’s universe. I enjoyed your review! 🎉

He is actually fighting a battle on 3 fronts. His mafia family, the biker gang, and the govt. The thing that I don't like is that they never say why he was sent to Tulsa. Not really. The writer is literally a cowboy, so I understand that. He is writing what he knows in a way. They likely sent him away, just to send him away because of the history, but there should have been more to it. There should have been some excuse they gave Dwight. I mean, they say "Go to Tulsa it's wide open" but that could be said about many places. It's like they threw a dart at a map and said, "go there." Also, the facial hair makes it a little unbelievable to me. Picky, I know, but I haven't seen many active mafia members with facial hair like that. A few mustaches in the 80s, but that's it. 😏

Watching the last episode I was curious on your take about the conversation Chickie has with all his guys about killing Dwight. Based on what you and other guys on KZbin have said before i expected you to comment on that. It seemed unrealistic that he would bring that many people into the discussion about killing someone like Dwight beforehand. I was under the impression that something like that would be an order given to one or two guys and that involving that many people in the conversation wouldn't happen
