Yeah Ricardo Lopez the Real Boxer Martinez is Based On is easily one of the Greatest to Ever Lace Up Gloves. Ricardo heated up in Round 2 because he was trying for a repeat of the last time they fought - in Date's first match with Ricardo, he got JOBBED, and the fight was stopped in the second round. That was the reason he was looking down on you as well, I'm pretty sure. He was in his corner thinking: "Oh you got some new tricks? That's cool. You're still not him though. I'm gonna wrap this up and get home in time for the ball game"

Yoooo I have been looking at your videos for a bit and I gotta say, this shit is funny asf. I also wanna add in a fact which is that most characters have combos that allow you to go in with a finisher such as Ippo's O,O,O,X,X then you can wait a bit (If you have dempsey roll) and use your finisher. just a small thing I discovered. :D

If it's of some comfort, it took me to finish the rest of the game before I managed to beat Ricardo with Date, and canonically, Date loses this fight, so you did better than the character.
