Interesting fact that there used to be a similar locust species in North America called the Rocky Mountain Locust. They behaved similar to the Old World species which is why they were driven to extinction.

Skip the pesticide.. grow indoors, vertical gardening with hydroponics. Why are they not doing this? But they have an app to tell them locust are coming.. vertical gardening could be key in these types of places in world. No it does not replace all types of farming but I believe it could help. There is a lot of produce that can be grown hydroponically. They have a shit ton of sun.. they could have literally skyscrapers of vertical gardening.
