This undercover report reveals the corruption and misery experienced daily by Zimbabwe's desperate population.
"How much for a banana?" "2 million dollars", the reply comes back. For most Zimbabweans this election is a side event to survival. As we watch Robert Mugabe tuck into a large slice of birthday cake on state TV, it becomes clear how out of touch he is with his starving populace. Life expectancy is a staggering 35 years, inflation an improbable 100,000%. Nearly 25% of the population live abroad as refugees. We speak to a member of the presidential guard assassination attempt, MDC leaders, refugees and white farmers. All are united by an urgent need for change. In the words of MDC candidate Mishek Kagurabadza "the Zimbabwe children are ready to march for freedom."

Ok, I can understand some claims about the land although its like two fleas fighting over who owns the dog they live on. But what about the houses, equipment and personal items? All that certainly is the farmers property. What about courts and law? No reasoning with tribal savages I guess. Please post more videos. @mrcrordry I would like a change from regime to government. I have Zimbabwean friends, they no longer live there and may never return. Whatever does happen, change or no change, it will be a massive struggle for the Zimbabweans.

I had no problem with land distribution, but the way it was done . Disturbing the backbone of the economy . There is heaps of land in Zimbabwe to share. Most white farmers where willing to train the indigenous people.

If the Capitalist United States stopped importing Venezuelan petroleum to be refined into gasoline and re-exported, the Venezuelan economy would collapse in months. Do you recall the strike of 2003? When no American-made petroleum products were coming in? Venezuela's people should have a better standard of living given the amount of oil that's exported, and yet that's not the case. Mugabe is allowed to continue, as he holds the power. He allows himself to continue. It is really that simple; He has disallowed opposition and tortures dissenters. Opposing Zanu PF can get your family tortured. Tell me, how is an ordinary person in Zimbabwe supposed to do anything to fight his police and army, without outside help?

It also has to do with a group of peoples or cultures ability to control their emotions and act rationally. Unfortunately this appears to be all but lacking in Africa. It is very unfortunate and makes me feel terrible for the educated and rational few.

@usaruss Just Google search 'US sanctions Zimbabwe'. There will be a link to Reuters, with the title of the article 'Obama extends U.S. sanctions against Zimbabwe'. There are plenty of other articles and websites for you to check. It dies seem a little ironic that you know about Zimbabwe's past and not much about their present political situation. But, that is how we learn. I didn't always know anything about anything, I try to learn everyday.
