I am listening for the steps to overcome pride. a little over a year ago my son was diagnosed with leukemia after I prayed to God to please never take my kids and husband away because when I lost my dad I could barely cope and I knew I couldn’t go on without them, who I love more deeply. I am now struggling to overcome a level of anxiety that is affecting my whole life.

I have been combating the spiritual warfare by journaling, plus, in the photos app on my phone, I have scriptures that I have saved from my Bible app. I have also taken screenshots of other bible study books & self help books that I have been studying and have saved those photos in my photos app in an album called Scriptures. When the images of my husband and her together, start flooding my mind, I go to that scripture album and read truth. It’s been a very effective tool for me taking my thoughts captive. My question is, how long will these images continue to plague me? It’s been 15 months since discovery day. I am craving and yearning for peace!

Thank you for your vulnerable share! We appreciate you asking the question not only for yourself but for everyone reading this: "How long will these images continue to plague me? It’s been 15 months since discovery day. I am craving and yearning for peace!" My (Adelle) experience of this is that there is not just 1 tip, there are many many tools that I used to help in this one area. I love that you shared all you are doing because as you can see, you have to attack it from all angles to get relief. I have seen that as long as the enemy feels these tactics work, he will continue to use them. It all comes down to a choice of NOT to allowing my thoughts to go there! I would say things out loud like "I rebuke you Satan, I have forgiven this and chose forgiveness again. Your tactics do NOT work here, be gone in Jesus name!" This was a common phrase that I used. I would say that this depended on my own freedom journey and getting the lasting healing in my heart. As I continued down that road, the images, visions, and thoughts all started to fade away. They no longer had an impact on my heart because I was walking in freedom instead of bondage. One program we created for this very situation is called Becoming Whole and Complete Program and it helps identify how the enemy is attacking you, and believe it or not, its deeper than the betrayal you are reliving through triggers. The wound goes MUCH deeper and this is why it hurts so deeply. I would encourage you to check out this program and invest in your healing.
