Fun in fighting games? I don't remember last time I had fun in fighting games. But I heard I had fun in strive after 4 hours of drinking strong liquors. Don't remember any of that, can't confirm. How much alcohol was in that flask? Seriously though, for the last 3 years I only have fun for a short amount of time playing as a grappler, but the sense of fun is usually suppressed by sense of guilt for how angry my opponent may be feeling after losing to my shitty mixups.

You gotta stop feeling guilty man. I used to be a guilt-feeler. Heres a few realities: 1: If the person doesn't like the stuff they have to deal with, they'll stop playing. You're only a component, not the cause. 2: A good player would do it to you and not feel bad, it's the nature of the game. The objective of games is to win, the win condition is a fighter just ends up in overpowering the other person ie they can't play. 3: Because you're looking at it like "That's fucked up, sorry dude" you feel bad, but if you change the thought process to "That worked, they fell for it, I'm fucking sick", you give yourself positive mental reinforcement. tl;dr stop punishing yourself for playing well.

Call me crazy but I only play vs CPU. Playing online stresses me out, I only play for fun. Not all games have well-programmed AI. I like playing vs CPU in SF6 or Guilty Gear Strive and I hate King of Fighters XV, which has terrible AI.

I don't like playing in co-op with strangers, it makes me want to play as well as possible so as not to receive insults and not ruin the fun for others. That is why I like to play fighting games online, there I feel free and I can play however I want. True, SF6's AI is very good but I think about the high difficulties, know your inputs, that forces you to play safely if you want to win, it can be educational and fun but I also think it can create bad habits. I think facing a human is even more fun, not only because the reactions and skills are different from a CPU but because each player is different, you can really feel the emotions and thoughts of the rival without the need to speak, as Ryu would say, you speak with your fists. and that is a unique feeling.
